I used to own a car, now I own an empty parking space and a police report number.

I feel for you... I know I would be extremely upset if my Mustang got boosted..... Keep your head up man, things will get better. Have you posted on the various Mustang forums so others can keep an eye out?

the 100% BEST investment/upgrade I've made to my car is a REALLY nice alarm. The brain is hidden, as is the siren. My would have to get towed to get stolen.

I got my car stolen in high school, scared the sh!t out of me. Luckily, some cops were patrolling and drove past them by chance, the mexicans got scared and ran away but left my car. They did steal all my books and 5 of my hockey sticks. At least when you get your car back you get to use 2 keys to use it!! It was actually kind of fun starting my car with the screwdriver they left in it before I got it fixed.

Wow notfred, I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate turn of events. I know nothing really helps a situation like this, but hang in there. It'll get better.

I got mugged, my fiancee broke up with me, I got a $1500 medical bill for stitches after being mugged, I got denied for a promotion at work, and now my car got stolen. Those are the biggest ones.

WRONG.

Thats what alarm companies tell people.
Open the hood remove battery. 2nd, find power wire to alarm, remove. Next hook battery back up and drive away.

Alarms will stop joy riders and rookies, they will NEVER stop the pros.

The best thing rigth now is to have On-Star in your car/truck. If it gets stolen, call GM (On-Star) and just ask "Dude... Wheres my car!!!" :)

damn man, that was a NICE car too

i hate to say was, but don't want to give you false sense of "don't worry man you'll get it back in one piece like no one else ever drove it!"

best advice in the thread so far was to post on various mustang forums so people can keep an eye out

Hang in there. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but it really will get better.

That really sucks. Condolences!

I had my Austin Healey 3000 stolen in the 70's. When I picked it up at impound.
It took 2qts of oil and 1 gal of water. I had to replace the rod bearings.

After the fact its easy to say Low Jack or pager alarm.

I looked at your pics. Hope you get it back in one piece.:(

Don't you think it'd be a bit more obvious if your car is parked on the street and some guy goes about doing that? It would draw attention and make it riskier......it's a deterrent. and nothing more. It makes them think twice.

notfred -

I didn't know about you being mugged. holy crap. when did that happen?

Uhh... you know that the alarm will go off if the hood is opened right?

On-Star OTOH knows where you car is even when you have it, and that is an invasion of privacy that I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with.

And the alarm on my car has ignition kill and fuel shutoff. I suppose they could steal it with a tow truck...

Jeez, my condolences. I feel your pain.

But, buck up dude. There are bigger better cars to be built and you have your whole life to find them.

Same goes for women.

will your home owners covearge help any?

i have, and have had Full insurance on my Camaro, since i bought it.

I had to get an appraisal done on it shortly after i bought it,
as the insurance company wanted to only cover it for about 1/2 of what i had in it. :(

I am going to check the garage tommorow, and be sure its still there. :(

{not too far from the house}

I had a car stolen, know the feeling, sorry about your run of bad luck. Hopefully it's done now and you can put the bad times behind. :(

Ah, but can onstar track a car that's in a shipping container on its way to southeast asia?
;)
