Are you calling this writer a liar?

I am, in a way. I don't doubt that he supported the action in Iraq and now no longer does. But if he were truly of a neoconservative philosophy, he would understand that being so is about so much more than military action in Iraq, just as being a neoliberal is about so much more than favoring paygo. Further, if he were truly a neoconservative, he would understand the larger picture regarding Iraq, that it never was about, from a neoconservative perspective, simple platitudes like freedom being on the march. Nor would he watch FoxNews or lisen to Rush.
Exactly. Those who have read the garbage from the PNAC website and believe they are qualified experts on neocons don't have a clue who they are or what they are about, and they are seemingly clueless about PNAC as well. Hint: It's a thinktank and lobbying organization for the military industry and not any grand conspiracy to own the world.

Well, at least there's one person in this forum who has an inkling about neocons and what they are all about. The guy in that article surely isn't one, that's for damn sure.

Bravo, Drew! Bravo!

I was in the same boat as he about 18 months ago but I saw the light and have recovered and now see the path of destruction we're being lead down.

This country's only hope is that more and more people start waking up!

I don't know who this Drew guy is but just need 2% of the Country to wake up or be able to fight back the Republican and Church brainwashing and long enough to get through Nov 2006 and 2008 Election cycles.

You people don't logically analyze information. You twist the information to fit your agenda.

See: Iraq.

"You people".. who exactly are "You people"?

You people know who you are. ;)

Again, why is it brainwashing and not just people choosing to accept one side or the other? Why do you constantly have to insult the intellectual ability of anyone who disagrees with you? I don't see a Union Member as 'brainwashed' by the Democrats, I see them as people who decided the democrats would better protect their interests and beliefs.. I get them to come around to my opinion by explaining why they should not look at it that way, and that the Republicans are actually more in their best interest..

True 'stupidity' in my mind is the unwillingness to accept that others may have valid reasons for disagreeing with you.

Are you calling this writer a liar?

No, I'm calling you a intolerant elitist who thinks anyone who disagrees with him is stupid or brainwashed.

That's a good one. Now, go off and play with bozack.

So you agree?

How about we get back ON-TOPIC and discuss the CONTENT of the article. You all can leave the personal attacks for another time, k?

It's only their anti-liberal biases, Conjur.

You said the following in reference to the article writer:

This country's only hope is that more and more people start waking up!

Most people would interpret that as claiming you yourself was a neocon but later woke up (just like the writer of the article).

I guess I would have to agree with StormRider on this one. Heh.

What does this then have to do with neoconservatives, most of whom are quite secular?

The Bush administartion is the embodiement of neocon philosophy. The Bush administration uses religion like a weapon. All part of the Bush strategy and therefore part of the neocon strategy.

Provided the GOP can keep its hands out of the election till. It won't matter how many people wake up like Drew did if election reform (with PAPER BALLOTS) isn't instigated.

I don't even post in this ridiculous thread and here you are bringing me up...nice.

Sorry conjur but I have to say your implications of being anything like this author are laughable at best...I have been reading/posting here for a good long while and I don't remember you being anything but someone with a heavy liberal viewpoint...

now shouldn't you be off digging up more on that insignificant gannon story that you love to ressurect from the dead...

Dance conjur, dance like the puppet you are.

Comments on the content, well I thought my mention of the whole thread being "ridiculous" would have covered it...

Personally I think it is crap...more than likely someone who is much like yourself and trying to present the aura of credibility by suggesting that they were in some way "open" to a conservative ideology when in reality they have always been liberal and are just looking for a leg up with their arguments.

I think he talking about the CONTEXT of your OP. Come on, I'm still waiting on proof that you were once in that boat as you stated in your OP. I know it isn't going to happen, but I just want to get it on record that you are a liar.

From reading AT for so long yes, Conjur was pro-war and all that other bs at one point waaaay back, but he was not afraid and smart enough to realize

caring for your country does not mean swallowing bs to held the line, it takes a critical analysis of what needs to be fixed.

Not the lazy way out of listening to whatever tripe the administration feeds you.

Question is why haven't you all woke up with all the evidence and the fact the neocons have been wrong about everything.

Conservative and the word slow, and constipated come to mind, a mind that is stuck without realizing there is more to life then

covering up someone elses's bvllsh1t at this point though with so many facts at hand I sadly have to admit some of you people revel in the corruption and condone it.

Making you enemies of the constitution and our fine country without the excuse of ignorance.
