I tried one of these a few weeks ago ... not nearly as many buttons as some of the above but still quite a few compared to normal gaming mice.

I REALLY wanted to like it because it was handy having those side buttons there to program but I found that in order to use any but the lower row front and rear side-buttons made my wrist sore.

The other annoying (but not deal-breaking by itself) was that the right mouse button is super-sensitive which makes it nearly impossible to pick up the mouse to relocate without clicking it. I found this compounded the sore-wrist too by preventing my pinky/ring-finger from resting on the mouse.

Swapped it out for the updated MX-518 corded mouse and am much happier. (virtually identical to the original with better switch's and sensor)

I think the logitech performance MX is the best mouse ever made except for two problems, the battery life is terrible and they are discontinued. I can live with the battery life so I bought a few of them, but I'm on my last one. Apparently the resellers realize this as they are listed for 350 bucks on Wallmart.com .

I have an older very similarly shaped model ... MX-710 I believe. Came bundled with a keyboard and was one of the last models that didn't use the unified receiver.

Mainly use it to work on people's laptops these days ... I hate touching somebody else's grungy keyboard lol.


Here's another multi-button option which looks like it might be more comfortable to use ... reportedly the scroll-wheel on these is a bit fragile though.

I saw that one looked interesting ... I don't care much about the weight though more the shape being comfortable and sensor-quality.

I'm sure you can go too light but the Glorious Odin model 0 is perfect. And ergonomic. The Final Mouse hype train was light too, and a good shape, but a tad big. Plus not as solid feeling as this.

I still have my original MX-518 somewhere in a storage bin and the second one I was still using as my primary gaming mouse right up until I snagged the updated model last week. (on my backup gaming PC now)

I actually prefer the scroll-wheel on the older version but everything else about the new one is an improvement with Omron switch's and a 16k sensor. Also not that the original was heavy or anything but it's a bit lighter.

It's really tough to find the "perfect" mouse!

That G604 was certainly awkward/clumsy that's for sure ... it was handy to have the extra buttons but the ergonomics were just terrible especially for fast-action games.

And yeah the buttons on the Corsair Scimitar are only easily usable if you have fairly small fingers based on playing around with one in Best Buy.

Your thinking is wrong. I have that mouse and the MX Revolution was better. The Performance MX in the two copies I have will not hold a long enough change to come anywhere near as close to the MX Rev.

yeah, that is my favorite mouse ever, but I hate wireless because of the battery issue. I use a G502, maybe 3 years now, with no complaints. I like that it's wired (er, I think it's an option, but there's where I've been with it since day one, so I call it a wired mouse)

Damn does that thing have mx cherry browns? Those buttons are huge.
