If you start playing Crysis you'll probably get into it. When I got my 290X I bought Crysis 3 just to see what it would look like too. Ended up playing the whole game through. Crysis gets a lot of flack, but it's still fun and VERY pretty.

The raid 0 raptors were old. I did it back then when it was popular, everyone was doing it.

"Everyone was doing it, that's why I did it"... no comment necessary.

The power supply is admittedly a little over the top. I've always been one to go overkill on power supplies. I have read stories about crappy ones. I went 1000w for a little headroom.

I totally agree that there should be "a bit of headroom", but you've got about 700W of headroom I'd say if you're not overclocking or planning on having multiple graphics cards, that is of course if the PSU can actually do what it claims in a sustained load situation. Also, as I understand it, high end PSUs (eg. 1kW) are typically very inefficient when handling low loads, which is what your computer will be doing when you're just using basic apps.

It never dawned on me I could add a usb 3 pci card

pcie not pci.

Age of Empire is now out in remastered HD, you can play that. Man that game is a beast, the other day I played against 7 computer players, each with 200 population, my i5 SB, with 16 GB ram RAM and R9 270 with 2GB struggles to accommodate it 😀
😱 NO WAI!!!!

Eh I just bought a GTX 780 for my rig and have about 1 of hour graphically demanding games logged on it... and probably 100 games of Dota 2 which can run on a netbook.

Yes... you wasted your money... just like me... but whatever just put your specs in your sig and ur cool.

I had a 5870 and I played hours upon hours of BF4 when it came out. I decided that I could sell it for decent money because coin mining and get a better card. Got a GTX 770 and I think I've played a total of 3 complete rounds in the 2 months I've had the card.

Although it makes my Netflix look super HD!

😱 NO WAI!!!!
well there have been fan-made patches with that for years, but now it's all official and they went even further with it on steam, they got the forgotten empires team on board and developed a campaign about the indian civ as well.

Age of mythology extended edition is coming to steam too, basically they included the free campaign that was released afterwards and added some graphical effects, in addition to all the usual steam stuff and online play and some other stuff.

😱 NO WAI!!!!

I like the game, its awesome. It infact came out about a year back, I was a addicted to the game back in the days, played it religiously until they came out with 3, disappointment was so overwhelming that I stopped playing everything all together. But started again once they came out with HD

Danny Glover and I share your sentiment brainhulk, "I'm getting to old for this."

But, it'll probably last you a while. Heck, my kids do way more gaming on the rig on my sig than I do. I am usually on my laptop or my phone.

But that's fine. Someday when a game you really want to play comes out, you won't fell like you have to get the latest hardware again to run it.

About 1.5 years ago, I found myself with a free weekend and I thought I'd play some PC games for the first time in a long time. I got excited and went to Fry's to pay non-online prices for a new graphics card and Skyrim. I spent about $400. I didn't play the game until 3 months later and I only played it for an hour.

I picked up Guild Wars 2 a few months ago. I actually played it for about 3 hours.
