Over the last month or so I've had to rebuild my main computer. I didn't intend to build a whole new set up, but it just kinda snow balled. OS HD failed (raptors raid 0) so I bought a ssd. Wanted front usb 3 ports so I had to buy new mobo and of course had to buy 4670k and 32 gb ram. Nephew's vid card failed and so I gave him mine, so I had to buy a gtx 780. Temps seemed hot so i bought this huge corsair air 540 case with a gazillion fans and a big ass Noctua cpu cooler. Worried about power, i bought an evga 1000w platinum power supply. monitor was crap so I just got an asus ips 1440p 27" monitor yesterday.

Have crysis 3 sitting on my desk but I have no desire to play it or in fact any other games. Fuck. Am I getting old?

It's the journey, not the destination! Nah... you wasted your money, sorry. I had the same temptation a while back. My computer is almost 7 years old, but I went the SSD, Video card, and X1 USB 3.0 adapter route. So 7 year old computer that runs any game i've played lately just fine, i'm happy.

Edit: It's the system in my sig actually, minus the 8800GT, now has an ATI 7790 and 240GB Crucial M500.

32gb is obscene. But yeah I kinda have the same problem. I have a ridiculous gaming pc and I play bullshit like hearthstone on it.

I used to give a fuck about overclocking and the latest games but now It seems like a waste of time. I now spend five minutes on a moderate overclock and 24 hour test and if it works when I come back its set. I havent picked up crysis 3 yet. Tell us if its worth it.

Age of Empire is now out in remastered HD, you can play that. Man that game is a beast, the other day I played against 7 computer players, each with 200 population, my i5 SB, with 16 GB ram RAM and R9 270 with 2GB struggles to accommodate it :D

I buy off the shelf Dell desktops now. I don't play games on PC/Console anymore. Saves me a lot of money and headache. I haven't upgraded my laptop or desktop in a few years. Honestly, don't have any need to as I rarely use either.

Eh I just bought a GTX 780 for my rig and have about 1 of hour graphically demanding games logged on it... and probably 100 games of Dota 2 which can run on a netbook.

Yes... you wasted your money... just like me... but whatever just put your specs in your sig and ur cool.

There has been a distinct lack of "have to play" games recently. I'm currently waiting on The Walking Dead Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us to be completed and waiting on AC4 to drop to $10-$15. Doesn't Steam normally have a spring sale?

I rarely use my beastly gaming pc because I sit at a desk all day at work. I can't even bring myself to sit at my desk at home. It was, without a doubt, a waste of money to build this nice of a machine.

Actually if you like RPG's and want to push your system check out the Witcher 2. I just installed it and played for like an hour... gameplay is whatever so far but the graphics/world are pretty nice. Very fluid, feels alive. Not sure how it looks compared to consoles but its been considered one of the best graphical games on the PC for years.
