for the past week, any time i try to swallow food part of it is getting stuck in the back of my mouth and my throat. i have to drink water with everything i eat or the food will not go down.

is this nothing to worry about? or should i start digging my own grave?

Don't try to deep throat your bud next time.

You're not ready yet for such acrobatics.

Stop sucking his dick for a month or so and your throat should recover.

Since you're looking for serious, I believe this is how slag reported that his cancer (tongue or throat, don't recall) first manifested itself. So it might be worth a check with your health care professional.

I haven't been able to swallow properly for about 2 years now. It just started one day that the swallowing motion no longer happened. If you read up on swallowing it's a 3 stage process where for me stage 2 just... stopped. The only way I could swallow was to try to send the food to the back and get it back in front (like some half ass regurgitation) where it would get wetter and mushier and then it might work or take a drink of water. My liquid consumption went up heavily and really, it's a pain if you're out somewhere for example and you run out of water and get no refill- at restaurants I'd just stop eating if I had no food.

I went to the doctor for it but he disappointed me by not doing a single test, he just said it was reflux and prescribed me some pill called Tecta. I don't know if it works but my swallowing has gotten somewhat better although that could also be in my head because this is the new normal and I just got used to it. When out I got in the habit of drinking with each bite and ordering both a Coke and water so I don't run out.

Long story short, I feel your pain- swallowing is something we take for granted because we're just used to it. It's like talking, breathing, walking, etc., it's one of those things that just naturally happens and you don't expect to stop!

Get yourself a new doctor.

Same thing happened to me when I had cancer. Actually, it still happens. Any time I eat something, I have to follow it with water or it gets stuck in my throat. It's a symptom of dry mouth.

As someone reaching the mid 30's...any of these would concern me and get me in to a MD...

- feel dizzy like i'm going to pass out every few days for no reason
- had stomach pains so bad i couldn't go pee for a solid day
- and now stuff getting stuck in my throat

Don't think those are normal signs of aging...might want to mention all of them when you go

just north of 30, and i know exactly what you mean!

in the last year i have gotten the following problems:

- can't eat fried foods anymore without getting diarrhea
- ear starts popping and clicking every time i jog or climb stairs
- feel dizzy like i'm going to pass out every few days for no reason
- had stomach pains so bad i couldn't go pee for a solid day
- and now stuff getting stuck in my throat

each one of the things has made me think i should tell a doctor, but then i tell someone and they say "oh you're just getting old". so i haven't gone yet.

Go to your doctor.

You could have dysphagia, you could have esophagus scarring for unnoticed acid reflux, etc.

The other items could be serious too.

Don't let the "old age" thing deceive you. I thought I was just getting old / years of hard physical exertion when a number of joints began to hurt. This went on for a decade progressively. When I told my doctor he flatly told me I wasn't that old (early 30s at the time) and it was serious. Took a number of years but I ended up having Psoriatic Arthritis. If I can complained about it in my early 20s I could have received treatments that would have prevented a LOT of joint damage that is irreversible.

Good luck.

When computer workers finally realize they have a physical body that needs to be taken care of.

;)

I'm thinking... many medications actually have this as a side effect. Lay off the prescriptions if possible, in my opinion.

Those are all symptoms of lupus... just sayin'.

meh, that's just a feature of eating fried food. Nothing is going to make me stop eating fried food.

I hear that if you have your BF eat pineapple then it will taste better. No personal experience but an ex of mine swears it works.

I've had this all my life. I actually thought nothin was wrong really until I was told my grandma had the same thing and had her throat stretched some years back. I just deal with it as it's not a huge deal, just kind of annoying sometimes. It's really only an issue when I'm eating dry or starchy foods, then I have to have a drink otherwise I'll frickin choke.

Maybe one of these days I'll actually have the procedure.

You should just have it done. It is seriously no big deal. They give you happy medicine, you wake up with a minor sore throat for a couple of days and that's it.
