I saw the sunrise this morning.

Wow...just wow.

I got a smile from reading this thread last week. Now it has turned grim.

We'll miss ya ace!

Today I was about 25 minutes late for work because I cared more about watching the sunrise than being on time. It was truely worth it, the sunrise was absolutely beautiful.

Thank you, ace. You have made me appreciate one of the most amazing things that is, by many people, taken for granted on a daily basis.

It's truly tragic that someone who took the time to appreciate the simple pleasures in life had his taken away so prematurely. RIP.

I think this may have been a sunset photograph, I know I took some from the lounge deck at the Anchorage Hilton during the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Anchorage

Holy smokes! That's a great photo! It looks exactly like it did here about... four days ago. Clear skies, thin layer of snow that fell last week. That photo is looking west, and is indeed a sunset photo. Did you take that this past week? Or is it an older photo?

RIP 🙁

I would hope to think that the beautiful image he wrote into words in this last thread he posted as a representation of the life he lead and how he viewed the world. If so, we have lost a man who saw the world in a way I hope to some day.

i was thinking about why such a nice guy would be taken so soon... i came to the realization that this was his contribution in life. he made friends with thousands of people across the world... not just people in his town. he made lots of good ripples.

i'm pretty sure that all of us will never forget him and will always remember how he died... we will always think twice about driving home after a party... we will always think twice about letting our friends or other people drive home tipsy.... we will tell others about how a good guy died because of a drunk driver... we will all be more generous when donating to drunk driving awareness fund raisers and efforts.

i believe rick was God's way of saving lives around the world... and i think that rick is happy right now knowing that we are all thinking about him and talking about him to other people in our lives and not just to the people within atot. this is why the good died young, i believe.

everytime there's a tragedy, good comes out of it.

I took the time to watch the sunrise this morning on my drive into the hospital for work.....really appreciated the beauty of the moment too.

Thanks Rick.

I've been thinking about this all day. It's a tragic way to go. This post that you made was beautiful.

You will be missed.

This is officially the single saddest thing that has happened on ATOT. It has seriously bothered me for the last few days.

It was taken in February of last year. I have an uncompressed version too, it is just that PhotoBucket shrinks them all. Change the number in the .jpeg to 1-9 or so for some of the others.

Although I did not know him, just the first post of this thread inclined me to comment.

Life is short...
SEIZE THE DAY!

RIP acemcmac

he didn't live to see it rise the next day. he was killed at 2:30am Sat, Oct. 28, 2006

That really adds something to think about... it almost seems like ace somehow knew he should appreciate that particular sunrise, instead of one yesterday or last week or last year.
