connect garden hose to fire hydrant to wash his car. I don't mined paying $6 for car wash but sometimes I wanna hand wash and wax, since I live in building thats impossible unless I keep bringing buckets of water. My question is it legal to use fire hydrant and what I need to hook up line to fire hydrant.
 
I imagine a garden hose connected to a fire hydrant would do right nicely at stripping paint, are you sure he was washing it?

I am telling ya I saw guy using fire hydrant for water and he had garden hose connected to it. I have no idea where he got that cap and other crap, but I heard its ok to open fire hydrant if use sometype of cap or something
 
Go to a local firehouse, they might have some adaptor. I know you have to do that to get the head if you want to open the hydrant for kids...
