No offense but why didn't you say "she is hot" or "she is beautiful"? The simple answer is the fact that she is overweight bothers you more than you are willing to admit. It may even be subconscious, who knows? Maybe you don't want anyone else to think you like fat chicks. Don't take it the wrong way. This is something I have noticed my whole life and many many people do it.

She was sitting down and when I approached her, the first thing I noticed was how pretty her face was. I don't know her at all - we just exchanged a few words - but she had nice smile and she seemed like a very pleasant person. I'm glad I met her and I hope my words of encouragement meant something to her.

I'm a 50 yr old white guy, and she's a 30 yr old black women. We come from different backgrounds and probably have little in common except for our love for Christ. But, believe it our not, it's quite a uniting force.

Not as different as you may think...the Christ stuff not withstanding of course. ;)

It's not my kind of music, but what impresses me is that three very different people, an inner city black guy, a suburban white guy, and a demure black woman combine to make a pretty interesting song. It's hard to imagine anything else other than their shared beliefs that would bring them together.

It's hard to imagine that I would listen to or care about that music or its message...why are you so hung up on the background of the people in the vid?

I saw Ryan Seacrest at Miami Airport. By the time I realized it was him he had already gone past. Sadly it is one of the only times I've ever even seen a celeb.

Come back when you've met someone who is actually famous:

Those are the ones I have pictures of. I have lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years. You cannot swing a stick without hitting someone famous (including many parents of kids in my kids' classes).

I dont even know football but I could figure that one out.

Just curious, how did you figure it out if you don't know football? Did you figure if he was a large famous black man he had to play football?

Reagan, I would have liked to have meet. The others, so so.

Not everyone live in LA, Central Wisconsin here.

Maybe he looked at the pictures? The team banners hanging in the background have some pretty common knowledge team names on them...not to mention the football helmets.

Instead of starting an organization to advance fat acceptance why don't they just work on dieting to lose the weight? Christ, I'm a bit overweight myself but there is no fucking way I'd ever support an organization like that. Yeah, I'm fat and I'm proud? FUCK THAT!!! I'm fat and I'm fucking ashamed of it and I'm going to do something about it!

I'm going to start an organization to promote gingivitis acceptance. Taking care of yourself is a choice, dammit, and people had better start tolerating my decision to not do so!

For the trilogy of posts: Phineas, I'd like to commend you on your staying pleasant throughout this thread. I don't care for her music, nor have I heard of her, nor do I care for her outlook on being overweight, but that doesn't mean that she isn't a good person. I'm glad you had a nice experience with a nice person; there are so many arrogant people out there who have their 15 minutes and turn out to be total jerks when you run into them. It's nice to hear about one person who doesn't follow that path.
