Logitech Z906 and a SoundBlaster Z.

The volume.....the clarity....the awesomeness.

So loud and clear, I much more enjoy listening to music up here on my computer now.

Right but clarity and loudness....

Also better than the $76 5.1 surround speakers I had previously.

Congrats on your overprices purchase!!! enjoy

I have a monoprice 5.1 + Craigslist AVR being used just as amp, PC has Xonar DX.

Way back when, I had the Logitech Z2300 or something. It was a 2.1 system and retailed for around CA$ 200. This was like 2006 or 2007. They were amazing compared to the POS $20 speakers I had previously.

Then I blew about $700 on a 2.1 bookshelves system. Mind. Blown. Still using the exact same system right now about a decade later.

I had the Z-680 & my brother had the Z-5500's, both excellent sets...easy to setup, great sound for a PC, lots of fun.

I have the same Altec Lansing speakers as when I built my first computer, these things are like close to 15 years old. I should upgrade at some point.

I also need to get better speakers for my TV setup, I just have a cheapy system I bought at Walmart, and the way it's setup is it only works if I watch a movie. I need to look into a small mixer board so I can have everything go to the same speakers, and a better amp/speaker setup. Something for later. 😛

Congrats on the setup but don't think for a second that the subwoofer + D class amp crammed into that enclosure can outperform any home theater receiver in clarify or loudness. Toss in some good speakers as well and there is no contest.

The problem with good speakers now is that I have really close neighbors. I would blast some music with my speakers but it would get noise complaints immediately. Damn city living.

Quality bluetooth headphones are becoming more commonplace. I know of one pair by Sony and Sennheiser that should both be higher-end but somewhat reasonably priced -- ~$300 or less? Too bad I'm paranoid about da brain cancerz from da non-ionizing radiation.

I still have a probably 20 year old 2.1 set of Altec Lansing speakers came with the only Dell computer I ever bought about 20 years ago.

I still use them on the HTPC in the bedroom, solid old things for their age.

The wife uses another 2.1 old small Logitech setup on a rig in the guest room for a few things, the big one on the main computer is in the living room I guess.

My Logitech 5.1 setup is about 10 years old, and it was cheap when I bought it. I should have a look and think about updating.

Sad story: in 2008 I bought a pair of Polk (full size) speakers, they're still sitting in the living room never hooked up yet.

Later, I bought a second pair of the better Polk model (and a center and sub) for 5.1, still sitting in the living room never hooked up yet.

Later, I bought a third pair of an even better Polk model with some idea of replacing the first pair or maybe a 7.1 setup, still sitting in the living room not yet set up.

Oh, years ago I bought a nice Pioneer receiver for them, that's never been hooked up.

For PC music and gaming I use a $35 pair of nice Plantronic headphones.

I have my old Audiophile wood bookshelf 2.1 speakers I used to use. I have my Klipsch 5.1 setup I used ot use that blew something. I have new and unopened multiple 5.1 speakers - Mirage, Logitech, Energy Take Classic, M-Audio Mx5A - and too many nice new unopened headphones to list, from Steelseries Siberia 2?, to Hyperx Cloud II, to the recently acquired Sennheiser 360 or 363 or close to that.

Now I listen to most music on the Amazon Echo, which is a pringles can shaped speaker.

Heh seems the easiest way to offend here is to say you like Creative Labs sound cards and that they sound better than $2 bulk onboard solutions

Edit.Only good onboard sound I've heard comes with macs and their cirrus logic chips.
Even these have some CPU feedback noise.

I've used Creative Labs soundcards for decades, and even bought extras I didn't need because they were on a good sale, and am happy with them.

I have an X-Fi chip, but it is on an older Auzentech Prelude 7.1 sound card I guess.

Never have had that screech at me.

Any thing that is better is always a good thing OP.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I used to use a set of cheapo Plantronics headphones myself for gaming, they are good for the money.
