Paul Ryan is spending his morning blaming Democrats for him not finding the votes to pass any immigration package inside the GOP caucus. He knows the votes will fail and is trying to get ahead of it, but badly.

They were not kids taken from their parents. That is the difference here. They were unaccompanied minors. Can you people not understand this basic fact and argue honestly?

Probably won't align with conservative talking points but I wasn't exactly enamored with some of what Obama did on immigration either. That however in not way excuses what's happening to families who arrive together and are forced apart by Trump's admin with the stated intent intent to inflict harm and cruelty.

Can he even get a majority of GOP members to agree on an immigration package?

Once again it is the Democrats fault that the GOP controlled House, Senate, President, and SCOTUS can't get anything done.
Has nothing to do with the fact that the GOP can't even agree on what their agenda is. Nope.

WaPo says the administration will, for now, cease criminal prosecutions of migrant parents with children.

Hey Paulie, bring it to the floor for a vote BEFORE you blame Democrats...it only makes your argument stronger! Or...does it?

Maybe, just maybe, if they considered Dem input on the bills they'd vote for one of them. Putting it together, calling it a compromise since you kind of negotiated with your own party's moderates and then shoved it down their throats doesn't seem like the effective route here.

They could just take up and pass the senate immigration bill from a few years back if they actually wanted compromise immigration legislation.

I tuned in at some random time to listen to some Republican talking about what this bill would do. After about 30 seconds I turned it off and said "NFW"

And get your self taken out in the next primary by someone who runs to the right. The GOP has mainlined crazy to the point they may not be capable of actual compromise since the base will lose their shit and the media machine will keep it stoked for profits.

Try turning on Trumps meeting. I'll cliff note it for you: I'M AWESOME. DEMOCRATS ARE TERRIBLE HUMAN BEINGS.

Edit: AND COYOTES!

Breaking news: trump administration is going to stop prosecuting families that cross illegally.

I guess this mean trump is ok with condemning thousands of US citizens to die at the hands of dirty, dangerous migrants like he claimed before. Right? Isn't that the reason for his ramping up of border laws? You can't have it both ways.

Its almost like they never did the legal and logistical analysis to determine if their policy was practical in the first place.

That's what I thought they did when I heard it was a compromise bill. Then I realized they only compromised with their own party.

Or planning to use their kids as even cheaper labor than their parents. If you're already hiring illegals then I doubt you'd care about their age either.

DOJ has put out a statement denying this. Of course this admin has no idea what anyone else is doing so.....

I can see it now:

ICE doesn't detain them very long and doesn't refer the case to the DOJ. DOJ lawyers run around trying to find people to charge.

So throw business owners in jail when they hire illegals right?

Well, they did run it through the gut checker and it checked out, so they did so some a analysis.
