sorry if i offeneded, it seems you've come out of the blue with alot of history/baggage and no ones wants to seem to explain but they refere to it a lot, if you'd like to tell us what happened im sure a lot of peopel would be interested in hearing about ti.
 
Ameesh: The woman you refer to is Nowheremom, a totally fake made up woman, while on the other hand, WW is quite real. If you don't know about someone, maybe you shouldn't post things about them as fact? Just a suggestion. As for what happened, do a search, I am sure you will be able to figure it out from there.
 
GF beat me to it. If you really want to know the history about what's being discussed, either do a search or PM someone that seems to know. That way, you don't unintentionally, or intentionally offend someone. WW is a good lady and Ornery made that page as a tribute to all the time she puts into her work.
 
well i apologize for mixing up the people, but as WW so accurately quoted me i said 3 times that i dont really know or have any accurate information. As for pming people i have and all i get is "troll" , "jerk-off" , or ask someone else.

whatever, i found out the person i was thinking/heared of was nowheremom, ive already apoligized twice to WW, and i have said nothing rude or derogatory in this thread, youre not getting anything more out of me, and now im getting flammed while people like you and others have resorted to name calling.
 
It's not clear to me what this thread is about. Before today, I hadn't heard of "WombatWoman," and although I came across an apology on AnandTech Forums many months ago from someone who said he was sorry for "faking it," it happened before I joined AnandTech so I have really no idea what all that was really about. But I'm glad I stumbled across this thread, anyway.

WombatWoman: Great page... but I'm missing the updates? 😉 I hope you'll find the time and inspiration to add to it someday, because it's a fricken' work of art. I've got it bookmarked, so I'll be back! 🙂

Why's everyone jumping on his ass? Because he made a thread asking a question, or because it was directed towards WombatWoman?

I didn't really see anything wrong in asking the question. I also wonder what the story surrounding WombatWoman is and no one seems to know or what to talk about it. I've tried searching, but not knowing at all what to search for just leaves you with an incomplete history and makes things more confusing.
 
Who else finds it endearing as regards the masculine persona that they/we rally around a woman to defend her honor in a way that we would not were that person male.

WW perhaps you were a little zealous in defending yourself. Ameesh was misinformed and has apologized.

Ameesh, if that is your idea of an apology, I expect that you have a lot of ex-friends. She did not come out of the blue, she was a member of AnandTech for a hella long time before you ever came here. Was the first woman made elite, and people crapped on her then, too.

Once during a brief time when WW was accepting PMs, she helped me rewrite a term paper, and she also gave me advice about psoriasis (sp?) when my brotherinlaw was diagnosd with this skin disease. Yeah there is a lot of history to WW, but calling it baggage makes it sound like she is some criminal or something.

I don't see anything "funny" about it. Many of us still liked Dennilfloss in March of 2001, he was not exposed as a faker until two months after that. He was one of the nicest guys at AnandTech, even if he was a compulsive liar he was still damn nice. And nobody could answer music questions or dinosaur questions as well as him.
