So you still broke it from using it.. But it's certainly not your fvcking fault that it's built so god damn cheaply. If apple just spent FIVE FVCKING more dollars to use real glass on the convering, instead of that CHEAP ASS SOFT PLASTIC, IT WOULD NOT GET SCRATCHED. I'm the one getting screwed here.. not APPLE, because they decided to cut corners on their overpriced junk.
If you do a google search for ipod nano scratch easily, you'll find HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS!

yeah go use your beloved sandpapered ipods.. I'll return mine.. SO STFU!

GODDAMNIT NOTHING FELL OFF YOUR GODDAMNED IPOD. JESUS CHRIST!

This is why DAP covers/skins/protectors exist you imbecile. Just about any DAP can get scratched...and if a person with any common sense has a DAP and doesn't want it to get scratched, he/she will get a case/cover/protector for it. Its that simple.

Or one could say if a company didn't want its DAP returned due to scratches it should include a case/cover/protector.

uh..but how many dap companies include a halfway decent case/cover/protector with their players?

I guess apple should have if it didn't want it returned.

Did you ignore my question on purpose?

And it isn't Apples problem if the player is scratched by the user after he/she buys it. If it stops working, or malfunctions, sure. Just scratches? Hell no.

I ignored your question because it is stupid.

And it is apples problem if more people cared enough to return the product.
Everything scratches from normal use
My phone scratched up a little bit after use, does that mean that Motorola made a bad product?? No, definitely not because of the scratches. My creative muvo has scratches. It works perfectly though. Does that mean that Creative made a terrible product?? No. If all manufacturers had to use scratch resistant material, prices would go up and it wouldn't be practical anyways.

read the car example above

what about phones? they dont include covers.

those you must buy seperately

Niether of those can you really return so your point is moot.

a car is too returnable. as is a phone. are you a moron?

Lemon Laws dumbass

and if the phone decides not to work its returnable.

its ALL the same, you cant return something for scratches.

Go look up state lemoon laws. You will see that they only apply in a very limited cases.

Sure you could return you phone you just have to pay the 200 early termination fee.

I'm going to be exchanging my nano due its crappy battery life, at this point I'm getting less than 7 hours of playback time instead of the rated 14 hours. If my next nano has the same problem I'll probably be buying a iRiver U10 instead.

http://www.batteryuniversity.com

Aren't the batteries in the nano soldered in?

that's a really nifty site.

it sucks that the batteries are soldered in. is apple trying to eliminate 3rd party battery makers?

On this size level, anything other than the centronics paper-clip-thing connectors are impossible to fit. batteries with paper-clip-thing connectors are a strange commodity.

iPods since the 1st gens haven't had replaceable batteries. sure it might be difficult to implement a user replaceable on the Nano, but that doesn't excuse all the other iPods up until now.
Is that right?

you know i meant user-replaceable without taking apart the unit.

those third parties exist to address the problem. using a tool to pry the iPod open is hardly user-replaceable

uh... hes gunna return the Nano for another mp3 player of some sort...

so you would be returning the phone for ANOTHER phone of some sort.

your arguement is completely wrong.

and in California you can return a car for a $30 fee.

but honestly, you have no grounds to provide an arguement that apple should include a cover. car manuf's dont, phone manuf's dont, do you get sheets with your mattress?

This is why I love my Mini. I've had it for about a year and a half and there are no scratches on the exterior. Anodized aluminum rocks. I did cut a small piece of screen protector for the LCD though. It's hardly noticeable and has protected the screen the entire time. I was really hoping the Nano's exterior would be made of anodized aluminum. Oh well. :p

No no it's like when you take a dump and a little piece of poo hangs on and you have to wiggle your ass to get it to fall into the bowl.

No no wait it's more like when you stub your toe on a chair leg and you yell "fsck!" and the dog freaks out and wants to go outside and you take her outside and get stung by a bee.

No, actually it's more like when a crappy show comes on and you need to turn the channel but you can't find the remote and you're all like "fsck!" and you're like "man I'm returning this TV to Best Buy."

Now that I think about it it's really more like when you sit on the toilet seat and it's really cold and you get goosebumbs on your ass.

Dude no it's like when you're trying to brush something off the bottom of your shirt and you accidentally flick your testicles and it hurts really bad and nobody knows why you're in pain.

Wait wait it's when you're taking a piss and you shake it off when you're done and put it back in your pants but pee still seeps out and you have a wet spot for the next 2 hours.

I mean wouldn't you feel the same? It's like if you're walking through the mall and you're going through the foodcourt and the smell of the food gets you hungry so you demand that they give you free food because if it hadn't been for the smell you wouldn't have needed to eat.

Entertaining thread

Who gives a damn about scratches on a music player anyways? Do you really even notice the small scratches if you're looking at the pictures on the nano?

My question is stupid? How the hell can you call my question stupid when you obviously could not argue your way out of a wet paper bag.

Jesus christ you are dense.

I just got mine from apple direct yesterday and it already has a few minor scratches on the back. But that was because i dropped it on the floor...

The metal casing on all the ipods are very scratch prone. It's also very easy to get fingerprints all over it. I should have bought a case when i first got it but the tubes from apple still aren't available for purchase yet. This begs the question: Why can't they make the back of the player the same material they used for the front?

What is there to argue. The purchaser isn't happy with the quality of the product so he is returning it per best buy policy.
