The Dedicated Games Retailer Experience.

But then, it does fit with their Business Model.

I don't buy games from stores these days. People need to get out of the dark ages and start downloading/ordering their electronical funnery from the intertron.

Yea... if only the Digital whatamajigger fulfilled it's promise to be cheaper than retail

Why should it be?

This is why I only buy unopened new. Which usually means I'm shopping at best buy or target.

Because you're unable or just too lazy to open the case before you leave the store to check for a disc infront of a clerk?

Maybe more along the lines of you shouldn't have to check to work that hard to actually ensure you're getting what you paid good money for?

Nice troll.

I wouldn't walk out of Best Buy without opening the box to make sure my item was in it.

ahhh, so I called in this morning and was very polite, I just said that I came in w/ wife and got some games and was literally about to wrap the things when I happened to open it and noticed no game in. He said to just come in the store, luckily it was same manager guy who checked me out yesterday, but I don't think he recognized me anyway.

Either way, he took the empty box and handed me a sealed DS game =)

I'm half tempted to open the sealed game just in case lol, but they are keeping my business =D

Nice to hear a positive outcome.

No, because I simply should not have to. It is a lame process that assumes all customers are thieves. I refuse to be labeled a thief for walking into a store.

Bust Buy has no problems just letting you grab your own game, walk up and pay for it. Why can't gamestop? Because they don't trust you or their employees.

I also refuse to use self checkout lanes in stores. Because I am not getting a discount for doing the work. Give me a discount and I'll consider opening my cases at the store to make sure those kids did their job, and checking myself out.

Wow, please tell me you're joking?

Have you not realized that Best Buy and almost all major stores include a little plastic device in your item that will trigger an alarm if not deactivated when you walk through the exit? Have you not realized that they have a guard at the front of the store who watches video monitors that are installed throughout the store as they watch customers and can also stop you at the door and look through your bags and check your receipt. Best Buy isn't just letting you "grab your item and buy it", you just haven't tried to steal anything. You're a complete idiot if you don't think Best Buy automatically assumes you are could be a potential theif as soon as you walk through that door. They have many safeguards against this. They also have employees who work in each department that can keep an eye on things.

The problem with the used games at Gamestop is they are opened items. They are small scale stores who don't have the ability to have someone stand around and watch every inch of the store to stop theives. The disc could be easily removed from the case in a matter of seconds. The sealed games are much harder to get in to, with all the stickers and plastic wrap on them.

Live with it. This is the world in which we live in. It's full of people who steal and rip people off. Companies have to protect themselves and make a profit. It's of little inconvenience for most people, but of course there are those egotistical self absorbed aholes who think they are too good for that. I know which one I find more annoying!

Good luck with that, happened to me once at eb games and they wouldn't do shit for me.

Aren't games and cases numbered, or otherwise cataloged? It should be easy for them to figure out they have an extra game in stock, corresponding to that case. It's even easier if OP manages to get helped by the same person who rang him up.

edit: n/m. looks like a happy ending.
