Sorry bro :(

I'd say I'm a big Christian. But I do believe in sex before marriage. Nothing wrong there.

Cry a river, build a bridge and get over it....

Shes just confused and doesnt know what she wants. On one hand shes very attracted to me and likes being together but on the other, i'm a guy thats bringing her "down".

Christianity does not forbid relationships, nor does it forbid friendship, even with those who are not Christian. Sexual attraction and the desire for friendship (both of which were evident in this relationship), are a basic part of human nature, and this woman is acting as if something is telling her to deny that part of her human nature.

Don't get me wrong; if someone wants to explore Christianity and what it means to be a Christian, then by all means go for it. What I am trying to say is that this is not what appears to be the case here. What I do see is an impressionable woman being told (by a powerful outside influence) that her attraction to and friendship with this guy is wrong, and therefore must be terminated. I also get the impression that it's not what she really wants, but she's willing to go along with it for whatever reason.

Okay then, we've found common ground. That's a long way from what you initially said, that they were telling her how to feel. Here you acknowledge that Christianity isn't telling her how to feel ("Christianity does not forbid relationships) but that she's interpreting their lifestyle to dictate that. The bottom line is, we don't know why she's doing this, whether because she's misinterpreting the Christian lifestyle, feels like she'll be able to better learn and apply more without a nonChristian dating relationship, or simply feels that she's walking a different path than he is. But it's late and I'm going to sleep now. G'night, thanks for the discussion. :)

Mayber the real problem in dating you isn't that she is christian. Maybe it's that she knows that she couldn't be with you without wanting you sexually. And her church (as most I know of) say that sex outside of marriage is bad.

just too attracted to you I guess..

Ha. Its the descent into fanaticism. She's just being a better christian - which means a larger virtual lobotomy. Soon she won't even be able to piss without jesus's approval.

Thank you. Be careful what you say though, lest The Flying Nun, er, Hotchic crack the whip on yo'@ss. Religious fanatics really chafe my butt. I used to be a member of the most fanatical of them all; Roman Catholic. Raised as such, but went my own way at 16 or so...bunch of damn hypocrites.

They just LOVE to rationalize their positions...no matter what spin you put on it, organized religion, any religion, is a crutch. Period. It's for weak people that NEED something in their lives in order to feel worthy, in order to feel "I'm a part of something good." Sigh. Want to do something wothwhile? Work on a cure for cancer or something like that.

Don't quote me passages from the bible, b/c I'll tell you that Jesus is getting mighty pissed off because you think that YOUR interpretation of the bible is correct or that he even wants you to "spread the word" Idiots...I say "watch out for that lightning bolt!" *ducks*

Phew... that must have been a close one for you, particularly because Jesus would have completely wasted His time on earth if He didn't want us to have a correct interpretation of the Bible or spread the word. Passages in Matthew 5 and 28 are quite clear on both accounts.

Nice duck.

Why should I work on a cure for cancer? What if I think that cures for cancer are crutches?

all teh girl advice you'll ever need :p
"All right, listen to me. You pull up right where she is, right? You go get out of the car and you lock both doors. Then get out of the car, and you walk over to her, and bring her over to the car. Take out the key, put in the lock, open the door for her, and you let her get in. And you close the door for her. You walk around the back of the car, and you look through the rear window. If she doesn't reach over and lift up that button so you could get in, dump" "Just like that?" "Listen to me kid, if she doesn't reach over and lift up that button, so you could get in, that means she's a selfish broad, and all you've seen is the tip of the iceberg. You dump her, and you dump her fast."

Sounds like she can't trust herself around you. So its her weakness that's the problem.

And the dumping via AIM things is extremely lame.

Forget about her.

And this stands in the way of a relationship how? Or do you mean to say that he has no selfcontrol whatsoever and nor does she around him?

Let it go.

If she only started the Christian thing a couple of weeks ago and is fanatical about it now then she obviously is very easily swayed into things. She is a simple mind. I'm sure a higher-thinking ATer like yourself would get bored quickly with her anyways ;)

BTW, I was in a very similar boat as yourself, only I was in a committed relationship that was MUCH longer. About a week after our breakup I realized that the breakup was the best thing to ever have happened to me.

Anyone that uses religion as an excuse to break up with someone must be a moron. Man, i sure love being able to do what i want and using my own conscience as a judge of what i can and can't do without having some third-party god or demi-god getting in the way. It's great! :D
