Why? Isn't that a bit ridiculous? A racially-charged gang beating is fine, sure, but watch out for that WORD, it might cause some real damage! You want to never hear that word again? In my lifetime, I've heard that word spoken a MILLION TIMES MORE by blacks than by whites. Convert them to your L. Ron Hubbard PC-ism first, because neither myself nor my parents have ever used that word in a sentence, but black kids say it thousands of times a day. Let's try some honesty in this fvcking country, instead of the usual "All my problems are someone else's fault" bvllshit.

Two problems there.

First I didn't have time to react to what was happening. From the time my friend saw the fight start to him forcing me to stop the car was ~10 seconds.

Second 911 on a cellphone is about as good a tigerdirect customer support. It wouldn't have helped anyone.

 
Good intention but bad bad approach. If the cop did not come he would've been in a world of hurt. It was his lucky day. Somebody up there was looking out for him.

Seriously, cut the E-go. My friend was at the very least going to end up in a hospital if I went out to 'help him'. There were two reasons he didn't end up in the ICU.

A) The cops came just in time.
B) I was in my van and if the cops weren't there I would have been able to bail him out.

On top of that it was the cops, not my friend who saved the poor innocent heroin addict. Get facts straight.

This isn't a matter of did Amp do the right thing. Anyone says they would act differently than me is either lying or stupid or just a random internet troll. This is a matter of how pissed I should be at my friend.

And fyi, after all this I'm still very pissed off at my friend.
 
First off...I will almost gaurentee the OP exaggerated the story. Why? This is ATOT, that's what people do.

Second...your friend is stupid, but brave, so quit bitching. My roommate just saved some kids life last weekend, this group of guys were beating this kid with a hammer in a parking lot, and had already stabbed him in the back 3 times, my roommate and his friend pulled over and confronted the guys and basically kept them occupied & away from the one they were beating until the cops came. Again, smartest thing? Nope, but noble. Quit being a bitch.

Hey, the way I see it, if the white guy getting chased was a heroin addict, then these animals probably weren't model citizens. And by acting like a bunch of subhuman animals, they deserve to be labeled as such. Look, like it or not, there are decent, law abiding people of all races. And then you have the "awesome people", whether they be white, black, asian, orange or whatever. You act like a "great person", expect to be called one.

No exaggeration what so ever. What I said in the OP was exactly what happened.

And calling me a bitch, get a fvcking clue. My friend did nothing. He wasn't noble, he was stupid. Maybe we could have turned the car around, maybe we could have helped the kid, but no my friend goes right at a 15v1 and now we get to save two people not one. What part of he had no chance of saving anyone don't you get.

Next time you see a building on fire go run in it and try and find someone to save. Don't worry that there's 0 chance you'll save anyone, just go. I'll tell everyone on ATOT how brave you were.

You say your friend did nothing....he may have put himself at unnecessary risk, but he DID stall them until the cops came, did he not?

I don't care if another poster thinks I'm over reacting. But no one is going to say I'm a pussy or backed down when I pulled a U-Turn and went right up to support my friend. Get a clue.

And I consider the source. You don't know what you're talking about because you've never been in that situation. When someone you know risks your life for their ego come back and talk to me, I won't hold anything against you.

Sirens come just in time and the kids back off and my friend acts like he's a hero. I don't think it was bravery as much as stupidity. The person he 'saved' was a heroin addict who probably burned one of the black kids.

I've known the guy for a while but now I don't even want to talk to him at this point. Am I right to be this p!ssed off?

1) Friend thinks he's a super hero and tries to fight 15-20 black kids to save a drug addict.
2) Friend almost ends up getting beaten but cops bail him out.

No matter who you are, running towards a group of people and shouting racial slurs sounds like a great way of getting hurt.

Are there safer approaches to this situation? Did you guys have a cell phone with you?
