I don't know where to begin. I'll tell you the story and you tell me how I should feel.

I'm driving back from Baltimore last night with two of my friends. We're turn on Broadway and North avenue and my friend sees a White guy running for his life. Behind him are 15-20 black teenagers. They start beating the the guy.

My friend grabs onto my wheel and starts screaming to pull over. I stop because he's about to make me swerve. He jumps out of the car and runs towards the group of kids.

My friend is pretty big, 6'2" 270 but he isn't carrying a weapon and isn't a city person. He runs towards the group and starts yelling racial remarks at them. They leave the white guy alone and come towards him. The dumb guy stands his ground as if he's going to take them all on.

I see that he's fvcked and we make a U-Turn and try to pick him up. At this point some of the black kids try and get in my way..

Sirens come just in time and the kids back off and my friend acts like he's a hero. I don't think it was bravery as much as stupidity. The person he 'saved' was a heroin addict who probably burned one of the black kids.

I've known the guy for a while but now I don't even want to talk to him at this point. Am I right to be this p!ssed off?

1) Friend thinks he's a super hero and tries to fight 15-20 black kids to save a drug addict.
2) Friend almost ends up getting beaten but cops bail him out.
3) Friend boasts about being a superhero.
4) Amp is p!ssed IRL.

My brother recently got jumped for his cell phone by a big group of kids recently. I'm not liking this resurgent gang activity.
 
Well, think about this. What if it had been a guy with a wife and kids, a business man, that was in the wrong neighborhood a tthe wrong time. Maybe his car broke down and he was at a payphone. Or maybe he was just some guy working to support his family, waiting at a bus stop, and some kids come to kick his ass and steal his money?

I agree that getting out was stupid, you should have stayed in the car and tried to scared them off while dialing 911. That, or a gun. I do not condone killing kids btw.

You're probably joking but seriously, if all three of us get out of the car we are going to lose the fight. At least by staying in the car I was able to try and give him an out. Call it whatever you want, but we all made it without injury.

If you would have cooperated with your friend in the first place you could have stopped the whole thing without getting out of the car by just driving between the group of kids and the guy they were chasing.

If you would have cooperated with your friend in the first place you could have stopped the whole thing without getting out of the car by just driving between the group of kids and the guy they were chasing.

That's assuming there was a big enough gap, and assuming he doesn't hit anyone in the process.

Also, assuming hes got the balls to run over a few kids in the process of escaping after they swarm around his car.

I don't think people understand what the OP is trying to say. He was about to get the crap kicked out of him, but when the cops came up, he was like he had saced the day.

I had a similar incident once, when I was robbed after watching a movie. We were a group of about 10 guys, and there were the other 12 - 15 guys outside the theater. They started following us, and grabbed my phone, and we got into a fight. My "mate" got punched in the stomach, and was complaining for three days after he got punched. WTF can punch that hard? He was just doing that because he wanted all the girls' attention, because he is an attention whore, according to me.

Did you know it was a heroine addict before your friend jumped out? Because if you didn't, then you have no right to be mad at your friend. It could have been some random guy they were beating on.

Why? In most cases like this, people will stop fighting as soon as they know they're being watched. All you'd have to do is turn the car to face them so they've got your headlights in their faces, lay on the horn, and the crowd would likely disperse.

But you're the "smart" one becuas e you think that doing absolutely nothing is the best course of action. That's pretty damn selfish if you ask me. I'm not saying you had to take them all on with your bare fists, but ignoring the situation completely is hardly commendable.
