I have literally no money right now

there are varying degrees of no money.

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house?

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house, or in the bank?

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house, bank, or retirement accounts?

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house, bank, retirement accounts, and no possessions to pawn off?
And the Hillary Clinton no money.😀

wow; I feel like a 1%'er right now. I have $123.83 in my pocket at this very moment. Just enough for Starbucks splurge. Wasn't there a "What's the most you ever carried" thread somewhere?

I double up my 401K contributions in the last 3 months to max out this year, I guess I know the feeling?

I don't remember the last time I "literally had no money". Eh, I guess that is the joy of not being poor.

I remember. It sucked. I had just moved across the country to start grad school. My car died enroute, I was living in a slum, I had no money, I had an old dog to care for, CC debt from trying to fix the car, and the school had completely forgotten that they had offered me a fellowship (who are you again?). I was selling everything but the dog. I almost had to get a job. Whew.

Well, this is good news for me then! I know that I can be a broke bum in NYC and still "bang dozens of chicks" like OP has!

Maybe I don't have such low self-esteem that I need to pay women to notice me. Don't sell yourself short.

But I had plenty of money a few weeks ago, now not so much.

Probably close to the third one.

I don't even know how to use a pawn shop. Everything I have is computer-related and they'd offer me like 10 bucks for it. I had to abandon like 90% of my possessions when I left my old place.

Funny thing is, I do have a few Euros in cash lying around.

aw man sorry for the tough time. The new year is almost upon us. We made a move from NYC about 8 or 9 years ago now and while I miss it terribly we dont miss the COL.

what keeps you in NYC and whats your career aspiration/job

Not trying to criticize, but this statement doesn't make sense. At least without a reason.

Having plenty of money a few weeks ago generally would also cover the majority of emergency problems, thus still leaving you with money. But, there are exceptions I'm sure.

The cost of living is pretty rough, but I think you get a good return on your investment so I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I work in software. I've got some checks coming in in a few weeks but they'll just barely cover expenses. I might be ok in a few months as long as things don't get worse.

I tried to get a part-time job repairing cell phone screens and the guy hung up on me. (That's why I made a thread a few days ago about having poor social skills. :awe🙂

No money in terms of none left in the budget to spend this week.

(self-discipline is no fun!)

The money covered the emergency problems and that's why there's none left.
