Stop being such a homophobe. This person will make himself known to you at some point, just calmy explain the situation. There's nothing wrong with accepting the gifts.

But the gifts may contain cooties!

Judging by the way the OP speaks he probably thinks they come with AIDS too..

I want to say that I'm surprised by that but I just can't :p

4. Maybe buying a "I like chicks not dicks" shirt.
5. changing my work out times, this will be interesting since he apparently is there early in the mornings and during the lunch hours. I could go after work but prefer and early workout.

and???
Or you could just ignore it since you are straight and married and there is nothing likely to happen. The fact that this is such a big deal to you implies that your secret admirer's gadar may be more accurate than you are willing to admit.

Private showers stalls although I will be wrapping the towel around my waist from now on.

Are you the kind of gym guy that walks around naked? You know, like walk out of the shower naked, walk around chatting with friends naked, talk on the phone naked, comb your hair naked... and only put on your clothes at the very end?

God I hate people like that... I'm sitting on the bench putting on my shoes... lift my head up to find a one eyed monster staring at eye level.... and the fvcker is just standing there talking to another naked guy like everything is just dandy...

put some frickin clothes on...

5. Gift certificate and flowers are from a DUDE at the gym (wtfbbqbarf)

This is what women have to put up with all the time. It will be healthy for you to experience this from the other side.

As for your experience, you should be flattered. You could probably work out who the guy is, if you were observant. If you meet him, you can be polite and say you are married (and prefer women anyway).

it's pretty pathetic changing your entire workout routine over this. Just continue on as you have been. He's not about to rape you. If he does eventually speak to you, you can tell him no thanks.

why hasn't this guy just come up to you and started a conversation, I wonder? Sending "secret admirer" notes is something you might do in primary school, not as an adult. It is a bit creepy. Maybe he is in the closet or something.

Other possibility: maybe you boss is gay (and in the closet), and has a crush on YOU. Maybe your boss wanted to test the water, see what your response would be.

Bingo. Whoever it is, they're testing the scene before making the move.

I can understand why a gay guy in the closet might do that. But I do think it is sort of a "creepy" approach. Even if the OP WAS gay, he still might be creeped out. It's the thought of being watched, without knowing who is doing the watching. In general, I think "secret admirer" notes are a bad idea, regardless of the genders and sexual preferences involved.

oh for god's sake. he's not going to rape you. 10-40% or more of all men in in your gym are going to be gay anyway. even if they look, it's not like they can touch.

I'm pretty sure I know who it is.

Young guy, pretty built. Follows me around the gym and talks to my trainer during my sessions.

He also followed me into the locker room this morning after my workout, and washed his face and walked out while I was getting ready for my shower.

He's also the only person I can remember being there during all the times that I workout.

Perhaps I'm just paranoid.

There's only one way to know for sure. Whip it out. If he responds negatively, you were wrong.

I assume its from my wife and walk up to HR.

this story stopped right here for me.

Paragraph 3: I noticed that you have a female trainer, guys that are attracted to other guys may be intimidated being trained by someone they might have feelings for. I'm hoping that this is the case.-(OMGWTFBBQ)

ok, i lied. this story is interesting.

Hahaha...I think this is far more amusing more than wierd.

No need to alter you life around this, just let him know that you are straight.

Find out who it is and ask him to take you out for some drinks. At least get a few beers out of the deal. Just don't get too many drinks. You'll be sore in the morning.

I don't think you are. This person has been watching you for some time. Gay or straight, someone who would do something like this has problems.

I hate to say it, but this thread has been the best laugh I've had all day. Good luck!

Is he "hot"? :)

Does your personal trainer know you are hetero, and married? Tell her about the flowers and note, ask her what to do (yes, ask for her help). She will probably either know who it is, or be able to work out who it is. She might be able to tell the guy you are straight and married.

Well, maybe "creepy" was a bit too strong a word. I suppose it is nice, in a way. The OP gets free flowers and a gift certificate, afterall. :) But I can imagine being a bit weirded out if I was in that situation.
