they make junk..i dont have any hard statistical data to link to but you wont have to google long to find it.
i loathe the dodge emblem, their patronizing commercials and slogans.

But they're one of the safest vehicles! If one of their cars is heading for you as you're crossing the street, they even have instructions on what to do on the front of the car: DODGE!

Oh, I see now. You hate them because other people have had trouble with their cars. Well, that's entirely justified.

He doesn't have a car. Come on, he's a spaceman, he have a spaceship to pilot.

Strange. I've had 4 Dodges in a row since 1997 and never had any major problems. I'm no fanboi, as a matter of fact, the last car I bought was a Toyota Avalon, but the Dodges were decent cars. Yes, the Avalon is a nicer car than the Dodges, but the Avalon is Toyota's flagship model. Not a fair comparison to my '02 Dakota because the cars are not in the same class.

That being said, I am firmly against the bail out to any company. If any company fails, it is NOT the governments responsibility to keep them afloat regardless of the reason. However, I thinnk we're going to see more of this as the government continues to move to the left and provide entitlements to people.

I just want to call you out on your unfair blanket statement.

My ex-girlfriend was a dodge fangirl. For that reason alone, and the fact that she was a b!tch, I will vote failure. Though I find it hard to imagine a world without Hemis!

Same here, but Sony's the one on my shitlist.

FWIW, I love my Grand Caravan. It's the 2nd one in a row I've driven.

Granted, the one I currently drive is provided by my company for business and personal use, as is all of my fuel, business and personal.

I love my Dakota, I like the Ram 2500/3500, I even liked the Neon in all its go-cart like glory - but the rest of the company with their massive rolling tanks and silly SUV's (Cherokee gets some credit but the Patriot needs to die) needs to go by the wayside. Stick to what they are good at - providing American power in work Trucks and ingenuity in mini vans. Give up on the muscle cars and wannabe luxury.

😕

It's a car company, it's not like it snuck into your house at night and raped your dog.

ahahhahahahahahahha

would you take a dodge viper if someone offered it to you for free?

Of course, and then immediately sell it.

Just because the car was free doesn't mean you can afford it, Viper's are junk - they're met as a track day car and dont even have ABS. I can barely afford the insurance and gas for my WRX.

They're meant to be unruly beastly cars. They aren't junk. Even Clarkson said that the car was unruly and uncivilized but in the end he'd love to have one.

And who cares what Jeremy has to say? I don't. He can afford to have toys, and if I could as well there are many much better options - even for less money. They are junk, I read lots of material. Road and Track, other mags and online stuff - Vipers nearly always break when tested hard. And they overheat faster then nearly everything else out there. Supercars often do have issues though and I understand thats irrelevant, Ferrari's are junk but I would still own one if I could afford it. If I can afford to have a toy like a Viper, chances are I could afford the Ferrari or something like a Corvette that costs less and does more, and has ABS.

Besides, after Jeremy sold his Ford GT after having nothing but issues he pretty much said he'd never touch another American supercar.

The point is that nearly everyone who receives a Viper would be better off selling it unless they could of afforded to buy one in the first place. And I think most people would sell it. I was pointing out how rediculous the statement was about you getting one for free. Of course anyone will take it, but how many people wouldn't just sell it?

So basically you're saying since you don't have any money, it'd be stupid to buy a Viper? I have no idea what you mean there. If someone could afford to buy a viper and if they wanted to, why wouldn't they? And you think most people would sell it? How so? So they can buy a WRX? Sorry, but WRX's might be fun to drive but they are ghastly looking and have no personality whatsover.
Ferraris are junk? I'm sure you know exactly what you're talking about.

Wow logic fail, you are way off. I am saying that most people if GIVEN A VIPER FOR FREE.....Actually nevermind, you fail.

And yes I know what I'm talking about, everyone knows that Ferrari's fall apart. I know people who have worked on them their whole lives, they are not the most reliable of vehicles.

Reliable? You mean you would take your ferrari to school, work and for groceries everyday? If you know people who work with Ferraris their whole lives then you should know how much they love the car. Ferrari mechanics are of a different breed.
Given a viper for free, I'd keep it. I'd sell the WRX though.

My 1999 300M that I got used back in 2003 is still runnning well.
Here is a list of all of my problems:
The Rims have started to corrode, slow rim leaks in my tires
The Lock buttons on the rear doors suck (one doesn't work, one got pushed inside the door)
Fan assembly that cools the compressor died and needed replacement.

Yea it's got normal wear and tear as well, and it's not exactly "new" any more, but this car has actually been pretty reliable as well as decently powerful and not too terrible with the gas mileage.

I certainly wouldn't give it a 10/10 for, but I don't think it's given me any more trouble than most people's Toyotas and Hondas.

Let's not forget that while Toyota/Nissan/Honda have been developing fuel efficient cars for Asia and Europe (where gas prices are even worse than here in the US even prior to the recent fuel price drops), the Big 3 US auto manufacturers have been giving us Americans exactly what we wanted: big, fast cars and SUVs. These huge monsters were great sellers and very lucrative for the last 10 years. But suddenly the price of oil surges, the economy goes into a recession, and now car dealerships are lucky to sell even a handful of cars a week. GM and Ford really got the shaft, mostly because they were focusing on what the American car-buying market was like.

I will say that I'm driving a '03 Ford Focus with 177k miles on it, and over the last two years it's been one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned. Whatever problems the US automakers had in the 70s 80s and 90s, I have noticed that their cars within the last 10 years seem to be extremely competitive with overseas brands regarding long-term reliability.

Thousands of people losing their jobs, potentially their homes, their kids college educations now questionable. The ripple effect of other businesses failing because of their dependency on the those wage earners. All the pain, anguish and misery would make you feel better?

This would be justice in your eyes?

Yeah, I hope hes serious......american cars are crap. The big 3 make inferior products and are too arrogant to change. I would feel bad for the workers that lose their jobs, but if my company went under the same would happen to me.

No bailout. If they are in that much trouble.....its their own fault and they can get in line and file for bankruptcy like everyone else does.
