I hate custom ringtones

geez, it's just a phone ring tone...

it's not a big deal, really... and it's somewhat personalizing...

what's more annoying (and this is not in reference to the OP's post/title) is people who post threads with titles that say absolutely nothing about what the thread content is about...!!

yes there is.. when you're riding the subway in the morning, and everyone is all quiet and reading their newspaper, and some little kid'ss phone rings to the tone of "i got money in the bank," its a problem.. and whats even gayer is when these kids continue to let their phone ring so they can sing to the beat thinking they're cool in front of their friends..

how come in "inside man" the edited version ringtone is just ring ring, but in the uncensored one.... its "gold digger" (the scene when clive owen asks everyone to put their phone into a bag)

I have those thoughts every time I see the jokes-to-phone and background-to-phone services. Who the hell's going to pay $2 to have the a Fast & Furious VII Vin Diesel background on their phone? Apparently, however, there are enough for the company to buy ad space on Spike.

 
anyone that pays for ringtones is a idiot. it takes a few minutes to make one.

the few ringtones that came with my phone suck and i sure in the hell am not going to pay $2 for a ringtone from verizon. so i made a few and have a data cable and transfered them ot my phone.

i have diffrent ones for diffrent people. but then found that my phone has a setting where it will say who and what number instead heh.

I hate custom cars. i mean wtf do you think you're doing? that spoiler doesn't help, it just looks dumb. just proof you have too much money and nothing to spend it on.

I hate custom clothes. wtf do you think you're doing wearing that top with those pants? come on, you should dress in solid colors. jesus, you fvckin fruit.

i hate custom PCs. why do you get to have that sli system, 4 gigs of ram, 80 bajillion gb hard drives, and 40 inch monitors? man, everyone should just buy a plain system from dell.

I'm an idiot for paying for my ringtone because I am not aware of a way to put one on my phone? If there was a way, I'd have to pay for the cable anyway.

so those people that have phones without the data link and connect cable need to just buy the extra stuff to not suck? nah, its just a cost of convenience for some people.

my phone plays the theme from halloween when normal people call, and my wife and daughter have their own rings. im ok with that, its personal choice, not any need to seem cool in front of people at the local convenience store. when i go to restaurants or meetings, its on vibrate, i hate it when phones ring in restaurants as well.

yet the action of reaching for your phone, looking down and hitting a few buttons alerts everyone in a room that youre getting a call anyway, so whats the difference?

Mine's always on vibrate except when I'm at home, and then the custom tones serve to let me know just who's call it is that I'm ignoring (or if it's one of the few calls worth answering)

There's a big difference if you are in the middle of a meeting at work. Looking down and hitting a few buttons on your phone will go far less noticed than when some goofy tune starts playing while someone important to your job security is talking.
 
I get somewhat annoyed when I hear ringtones but my roommate picked well. He's got 2 different ringtones depending on whether a guy is calling or a girl is calling. He's a good ringtone picker -_-; I guess the ringtones I hate the most are EMO ringtones.. whatever that means to you or me 🙂
 
I have my phone on vibrate as I want to be discreet.

People can use whatever ring tone they want. Most are mp3's and are of decent quality.

I have nothing against custom ringtones. Custom ringtones are just as annoying as the Nokia song when they're blaring out in the middle of class or a meeting. While I believe in vibrate mode, I won't go to diss custom ringtones.
