Well, certainly I'm happy for you. But, all sarcasm aside, did you *really* begin to talk in other languages?

If you're serious and honest, I would call Dan Rather. I'm not kidding.

They aren't audible earthly languages. It is a prayer language between you and God, and there are millions of people worldwide who have experienced it.

I'm honest. I'm serious. But it's nothing new to the world.

so what did u feel?? did u lose consciousness?? were u still aware of ur surroundings??

I could barely feel the few hands that people had on me shoulders and arms, but I wasn't focused on it, and eventually I could hardly feel anyone around me. The only thing that I could really think about was how close I felt to God. And I was saying what I thought were audible words, but the next thing I knew I could hear what I was saying, and it didn't match what I had thought I was saying. So then I just gave God control of my tongue, and what came out would sound like gibberish to most people.

OMFG! They turned you into a pirate!! LOL I kid I kid....

there are a lot of stuff that can't be explained by scientific methods.. perhaps this is one of them

Err...there's a lot of stuff we don't understand yet. Doesn't mean it can't be explained rationally - we just don't know how yet. And never underestimate the capacity of the human mind to deceive itself.

Acts 2...

14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17" 'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.

A lot of people on the day of Pentecost thought that the 120 who recieved the Holy Ghost were all drunk. Many people do not believe the first time that they hear it or see it. I have been in other churches my whol life, and it took a few months of me seeing it before I actually believed it. You really just have to experience it for yourself.

People who discount this type of thing really piss me off. If you've never experienced it or can't understand it, fine. Don't rag on people who have. :|

Congradulations!

My dad's Penticostal, I'm Baptist, I don't believe you have to speak in tounges to recieve the Holy Ghost (because it doesn't explicitly or suggestivly come out and say that in the Bible), but I do know that not everybody fakes it. (although I know a few who have faked it in thier own ignorence to be accepted among other Church members) I personally have never spoken in tounges but have been moved enough to be weakend to tears and brought to my knees by the power of God through repentence when I was saved (and a few times in repentece after I was saved)

There are a few minor quirks about the Southern Baptist doctorine I don't 100% agree with, but they are by far the closest doctrine that co-incides with what I've read and my understanding of the bible. (I've visited many different denominations/Churches for months in each one searching for the doctrine I agree with most as being strictly Bible taught)

Sure I am skeptical, but has he presented me with a reason not to be? I am not "ragging" on him for being religious, but rather the ignorant statement "I have experienced many things that simply CANT be explained by scientific methods" without any sort of reasoning other than it can't because I say so.

can these guys heal the sick too? the apostles could do that.

The apostoles never healed anyone. God healed people through the apostles because they had enough faith. God does not explicity give people the ability to heal others today, but prayer is very powerful.

Another area Apostolic church (a sibling church I guess you could say) had a girl that was holding a needle in her mouth while she fixed someone's dress. Someone made her laugh and she swallowed the 2 inch long needle. They rushed her to the hospital, praying for her healing the whole way, and after x-raying her 3 times they could not find the needle anywhere in her body.

Anything can be accomplished in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

OK, this is where I draw the line.

So where did the needle go?

It didn't just disappear. LOL.....

Things don't work like that. Not even God can make a needle dematerialize. 😉

If you're going to do the whole religious thing, then you have to believe that God set everything up to just "work". Plants need water. People need food. Light travels at 299,792,458m/s. Swallowed needles are inside of you. That's just the way things work.

😛

I'm not sure what that wink at the end is supposed to mean, but if you are serious that God can't just make something disappear, then I just have to disagree.

God created all, why can't he just take something away. Remember, this is an omnipotent (all powerful) God. There is nothing that my Jesus cannot do. I know that sounds cliched and repetitive, but it's the absoulte truth.
