What are you talking about? You don't even know what she was doing, so how can you be in any position to say that it is right or wrong?
iTunes is not worthless, it is a great program to manage one's music library. In fact it is my preferred app, and I use it and recommend it highly. And what's this about taking away purchased music? You want to take away things from your mother that she bought? When again, you don't even know what they are? What agenda do you have? How does that even make sense?

Hello, she doesn't have a music library. All the music she owns are on CDs, she isn't ripping anything, to my knowledge she doesn't listen to music on the computer at ALL.

you would seriously format her computer if she bought a song? you got issues. it's her money, and if she wants to buy music, let her. someone has to, and its not really a big deal.

Fixed. She is an aol user who installed itunes, how could this possibly be guiding her down the right path??? It's so depressing to see how she once would program on her IBM XT computer but now is limited to AOHell and apparently has itunes on her machine.
ok, the aol thing = dumber....
the itunes thing = smarter.
itunes ftw.

Who the hell are you to decide what your mom puts on her comp. It belongs to her so leave her alone.
Its funny that teenagers complain about everything their parents do when they try to guide them or intervene when they are screwing their life. The momeny these kids get a little smarter they try (in your case get a false feeling of being smart) to run their parents lives.

You've already proven how limited your knowledge actually is. Your mom is content with her decisions, she obviously know a lot more than you do, so back off and let her do what she wants.

It's not her money, it's my dad's money.. We used to not have exactly 'a lot of money' when I grew up but now that we do have money, I've noticed she has changed drastically in her attitude towards money... This may seem irrelevant but she beginning to make excuses for purchasing things with reasoning like 'whats money for if you don't spend it?' and other crap like that. It's really disturbing to see the once frugal mother of mine change like this. I grew up my whole life learning to be frugal, to buy what you needed and that excess is bad etc... but now she has been acting otherwise, almost hypocritically and it's extremely frustrating. BTW, I'm not the one who noticed this, it was my sister who did, I just came to the realization of it, thats all.

In my book, iTunes and aol are the same thing, both worthless POS excuses for software. You say it isn't going to harm her, couldn't the same thing be said about aol? Ya know what happened when I tried to get rid of her aol? She said she'd rather DIE than live with out her aol. It's like friggen dog who found a bone and when you try to take it away, that sweet puppy becomes a vicious creature.
