What bothers me is this idea that he thinks he controls his mom and her money. Unless you make it, shut up. As far as it being your dad's money, they are married, it is *THEIR* money. If your dad has a problem with how it is spent, then let him deal with it, not you.
I find it hilarious that an argument ensues after you tell her she won't get a new notebook. Who the hell are you to tell your mom what she will and will not get? Especially if you are living under their roof.
My mom used AOL for a long time. It served her purpose and worked well. She eventually moved to a local ISP. I don't tell her what to install, and I fix the problems she has, either that or I ask one of my local buddies to do it.
Funny, they will fix it for her for free, as will I, free of cost and free of any snot nosed remarks on how she should live her life. Why? Because it's called respect and curtousy, it's obviously something you lack.
You owe your mom your life and all you can do is trash her on an internet board. You owe her your security and house and all you can do is argue with her when she wants help. You are a disgrace to children. Show your mom this thread, tell her you are sorry, and then fix whatever she needs fixed.
Well, to tell you the truth, nobody care about your holier than thou crap, nobody cares than you're a saint, oh wait, no body cares. You enter thread, you leave thread, good bye.
wow. you really are fvked up aren't you?!
Someone describes a perfectly reasonable, perfectly logical, and rather generous manner of comprtment with their mother and you lambast them for their 'attitude?'
WTF is wrong with you?!
Don't you understand that you are supposed to repspect the wishes of your parents.
That said, a smart entuty will remain neive and attempt to vocie his opinion and attempt to have serious discourse with his parents on the matter, but you default to antagonism.
Sorry kid, but one day you will hit rock bottom aas I did.
It is a place where everyone knows your name adn every little bad thign about you, and you utterly naked in everyoens prescense, as weak as a human could be shy of death.
In this place your courage, your pride, your wisdom, will all be tested, and walls will fall.
In this place, what is truly genuine will remain, and all the rhethorical bullsh!t that you hash out every few seconds in an attempt and legitimate retort will be wiped away.
This place will either be a figure of speech and represent a time in your life when you are enlightened or it will occur at a restop off of I-66 accompanied by two feelas named Bubba and Cleetus.

No, they ARE the same as spyware. In case you didn't notice, bonzai buddy AND weather bug do infact provide a service much like iTunes.
Well, I'm glad we got that out of the way.
iTunes, bonzai buddy, real player, weatherbug, musicmatch, toolbars, comet cursor, quicktime, etc..
They all provide a service, they all do something that would give an incentive for at least SOME USERS to keep the programs running on their computer. So why are they bad? Well it's because they use an insurmountable amount of resources and in most cases collect personal data. They all have this in common, they all disguise themselves as being useful software, they all can bring a decently equipped machine to it's knees, they all have alternate, less 'bloatware like' software alternatives, and I hate them all.

To me, iTunes=viruses/spyware.
Your blanket statements categorizing itunes as a virus and/or spyware have no merit whatsoever and what you have demonstrated is a lack of comprehension on the subject. Unless you have a POS computer, itunes should NEVER affect your system resources. Sure it has crashed a few times like any software would, and sure it runs a few processes, but other than that, it is barely noticable. Sure 50Megs of RAM might seem like a lot, but in this age of 1GB + systems it's not a big deal.
BTW, stop using such big words. some of us don't rararared so good. Sorry, but phrases that included 'itunes' or 'bonzai buddy' and 'insurmountable resoruces' don't click with me.
