Your AD policy is dictating where the persons profile is or something?

Even if the GPO isn't applied, it should be cached from the last time on the domain unless the machine has been powered off for a really long period of time, or just got added to the domain.

?You guys set up a wireless home network for our Qwest service, my two sons were on their computers and then my wife made a phone and every thing cut out including her phone call. Now I was told that we could use the phone and the Internet at the same time but evidently we were lied to about that. Now I want someone out here TODAY to fix this.?

"Is your phone a regular landline, or is it a service like Vonage where it uses the Internet?

"It's a landline."

The keyword is wireless. Did you or whoever tried to help the customer ask him if the phone was a cordless phone? If it was a cordless phone in the 2.4ghz range then the phone and wireless where likely blocking each other. Seen it a couple of times.

You are correct. But, the above describe problem is a symptom I have seen when there are problems with updating the GPO and it was one of the later problems to manifest before we figured out what was going on.

I also hate when people say "The computer just screwed up. It was working fine and either the computer broke, or you guys in IT changed something". Yes b/c computers think for themselves now and can break themselves. I'm sure that cup of coffee you spilled, the bagel you ate over the keyboard, and the online shopping you were doing didn't have anything to do with it.

Old people/dumb people are fine, especially if they listen/follow instructions.

Find an ATOT expert, who calls support. That is a nightmare.

"Right click on my computer"

"Yeah yeah yeah, I'm already in device manager"

"Great, close device manager and right click on my computer, and go to manage"

Or something like that. Clueless folks who listen>Clueless folks who don't listen>"Enthusiast" crowd
