Just another clip of cops using excessive force.

you don't know that.

she could have been warned numerous times to cooperate or she was going to get tazed.
how do you know we saw all the video of her?
Of course we don't know all of the circumstances. But if she was really drunk, a lot of drunk people are incapacitated mentally and physically (usually from their own doing) so I don't see the need to use a tazer in that video. But again, we don't know the whole story.

I fail to see how the 'suspect' could have seriously posed a danger to the cops though. Handcuff her first. Tazer later if need be. It's not like she was going to go anywhere.
the tazer use may well have been excessive. all i am saying is not to judge unless you know all the circumstances. having a relative in law enforcement i know that FAR too often they are not given the support they deserve for doing their job correctly.

Same here - a relative and a close friend are both cops - and both take far too much crap from the public they're there to protect.

You mean the public they are their to ticket and arrest for having drugs?

Oh believe me. I'm all for law enforcement and I'm not a left-leaning member of AT. I would just think they would try something else before tazering. But like we've agreed upon, we don't know the whole story.

Tazer her or spray her with pepper spray and contaminate everything and one else in the room?

Does Wayne Brady have to taze a bitch?

Police are public figures, they WILL have all their actions scrutinized. If they don't like it, quit.

The decision to use force is always done so based on what is happening at that moment. Knowing the background is usually unnecessary. Was the person a threat to either themselves or others? If yes, use the minimum force to prevent them from hurting themselves or others. Was a tazer the minimum force? Hell no.

And yes, the job of a police officer is to protect and SERVE. The vast majority of the public only interacts with the police when they are being told to pay a fine. That tends to generate a bit of animosity.

There was an episode of cops last night where this rather large man didn't want to leave a bar. He was waving his hands around slowly like he was some kung-fu master. They sprayed him with pepper spray repeatedly. First he kinda dumped a beer on his face and stood there. Then he went to a sink and slowly poured some water over himself as the police continued with a steady stream of pepper spray. Most of the cops were coughing from the fumes in the room and this guy was fine. They finally overpowered him with about 10 cops. One of the cops started to pour water in his eyes and the guy just kept saying "I'm fine". Doesn't really have anything to do with this story, but it was pretty impressive.

Got a link for that on youtube or something?

By the way - thanks, Mosh, for finding the story =)
yeh, we can only hope that people who post in this thread read the article first. But just in case ----> THE COP WHO TAZED HER GOT FIRED, and after her case is settled (DWI, resisting arrest, and various other charges) I am 99% positive she will sue and most likely win.
