She was drunk and wasn't a threat. I think they shouldn't have used the tazer in that instance.

TAZER TAZER TAZER DEPLOY!

that said, using a tazer didn't look necessary.

you don't know that.

she could have been warned numerous times to cooperate or she was going to get tazed.
how do you know we saw all the video of her?

See thats the problem, tasers to my knowledge are not to get suspects to comply, they are to disarm suspects from hurting theirselves or someone else.

Of course we don't know all of the circumstances. But if she was really drunk, a lot of drunk people are incapacitated mentally and physically (usually from their own doing) so I don't see the need to use a tazer in that video. But again, we don't know the whole story.

I fail to see how the 'suspect' could have seriously posed a danger to the cops though. Handcuff her first. Tazer later if need be. It's not like she was going to go anywhere.

the tazer use may well have been excessive. all i am saying is not to judge unless you know all the circumstances. having a relative in law enforcement i know that FAR too often they are not given the support they deserve for doing their job correctly.

Oh believe me. I'm all for law enforcement and I'm not a left-leaning member of AT. I would just think they would try something else before tazering. But like we've agreed upon, we don't know the whole story.

3 cops, crying drunk college girl (or equivilant), no aggressive behavior that they could not have handled without a taser.

My BIL used to be a cop and had that been him in the video, my opinion would have been the same.

Rights violated, fire the cop, pay the chick.

Message sent that while it "fun" to taser people, you will be fired if you dont use common sense.

"used to be" ? so he's not a cop anymore?

all i am saying, and you are failing to comprehend, is YOU don't know the whole story and neither do i. that is why a knee jerk reaction condemning the cop may not be the correct one.

Which rights would those be?

The right to not be tasered by some asshole cop who abuses his power?

Excessive force maybe?

That looks like video that belongs to the police department. That being the case, all the police department has to do is release the entire and clear it all up.

We dont know the whole story no, we know there was 3 cops and one drunken girl that had no weapons.

She may have killed someone an hour before, yet since it was pretty evident in that short clip that she was not dangerous at the time, why not just restraint here?

Maybe she was excersising her right to civil disobidience.
