OP do you use AAS?

No judging from me, you only live once and if people wanna be huge I say go for it.
Only supplements. I've considered drugs, but felt I haven't needed them yet. I am turning 36 this yr so I'm sure trt isn't too many yrs off

how is it that different steroids have different effects?

would your body not just convert everything to regular testosterone or other androgenic hormones like epitestosterone

I'm no chemist but from what I hear the popular steroids that bodybuilders use are engineered to be more potent than testosterone. THey can make them target specific receptors, avoid other receptors, make them anti-estrogenic so that you dont get some of the side effects of straight testosterone.

I believe just taking straight testosterone can also cause elevated estrogen as your body narurally tries to achieve balance/homeostasis, steroids (the good ones) are engineered to block estrogen.

And another (and probably the main reason) is to avoid detection, they are constantly coming up with new forms.

I bet you are a natural mesomorph. If I were you id hold off on the trt for as long as possible because you already got great genetics. Literally as soon as you start injecting extra hormone your body drops its own natural production, its called homeostasis. Your testosterone levels dont rapidly drop off at 40 like the "ageless male" commercials would have you believe. I know guys in their 50's who are jacked naturally. Around the 205lb. level. You really only need steroids if you want to be 240lbs lean, or you are cutting weight like an MMA fighter.

I know guys taking trt at 30 through the va.... And I know guys taking drugs at 50+ that look great. If I feel I need it, I'll deal with it at that point. Whether that is through my doctor or other means.

And yes I think I could be considered a mesomorph. That said I think I have better than average genetics.... And more so better dedication than most. I try to live it

Edit.
To some around here, even 240 isn't big. Why would I take the risk ;)

Not saying you're a liar but .75" in a couple months is a ton to gain naturally, especially when you're that big already. That said, I walk around at 260 any more and could easily pack on more lean weight naturally. I'm probably one of the few that considers 240 not big but that's also because I don't feel big at 260. Good work though man, keep it up!

I'm natural... creatine/glutamine. I cycle DAA/anabeta elite with PES erase... and have been eating damn near perfect. that's pretty much the extent of it.

you have to remember, I work crazy hours over the summer and come into the fall/winter, petty deflated. takes me a couple months just to get back into the groove.

I am happy I just look bigger at a lower bodyweight

if you started cutting fat, you'd have a new perspective on big. the thing that bothers me about my build is I am very unassuming with normal clothes... granted I wear things too big as my wife tells me. regardless, I needed to get my bodyweight down.... some of my friends from the gym say "you are so skinny now".... I reply; "I'm the biggest 'skinny' guy you'll ever meet" ;)

I'm the exact opposite, people say I look lighter than I am. I think most of that is because I carry a lot of weight in my lower body and it's rather unassuming until I they feel my pressure. One of these years I'll think about getting more lean. I've cleaned my diet up a lot too, at 260 I think I look more lean than I did at 250 a couple months ago.

I hear where your are coming from. people's perception is way off now days. Heck, my brother in law that's an inch or so shorter than me, doesn't train at all, and has a beer belly (not huge but noticable) is 220 lbs.

it wasn't 'that' long ago when 200 lbs was considered really big

the perception of people has always been off

probably because many people are naturally tall and thin. their natural body weight might be 150 to 175 lbs. and yet someone who is 5 to 5.5 feet tall might be considered short even though there are plenty of mediteranians and asians who are this height. people think that what is sommon in their culture is what is the "normal human condition".

seems the ufc is interested in a atomweight class at 115 lbs. and apparantly there are tons of people in latin america and asia who could fill this weight class. yet ther are also more than a few people to be found up to 350 lbs. over 350 lbs are you start to have trouble at least as far as i have noticed. so what you weigh at what height depends on more than manys things like your nutritional history as well as your ethnicity.

for example someone who does not look their weight would be cheik congo

he is 6'4" and has fairly wide shoulders yet he only weighs 230. seems he has a skinny frame

60

34821.jpg

now consider someone like shaq. he stands 7'1" and weighs 325 lbs. that might seem big to many people but there are many who might weigh more than that at a shorter height than shaq

6a01156f2c3287970c0168eba86289970c-250wi

shaq actually looks big yet he only weighs 325 lbs. granted i think he could get to 350 or maybe even 375 if he really wanted to.

yet hafthor julius bjornsson stands only 6'9" yet weighs 420 to 440 lbs

and brock lesnar weighs in at 280 to 290 at 6'3"

Why are your elbows so pointy?

Great progress man. What's the deal with the shoulder clicking? I get that too and I just finish my set and stop working the body part that clicks.

not sure if serious question

shoulder clicking could be an array of things. usually just general shoulder impingement from a muscle imbalance. lots of smaller muscles in the shoulders, lots of connective tissue.

OP you are buff but honestly I think your arms are too big, and thats what gives you the what you call "unassuming" look with clothes on. Guys with your kind of physique have never intimidated me because it doesnt look athletic or like you can do much with it (not saying that is the case at all, but its just not the classic fighter physique) versus like a GSP physique, look at GSP his muscles are much smaller than yours but he looks like he could probably kick your ass even if you didnt know he was a badass mma fighter. Because look at his proportions to yours, his muscles are smaller but higher set, and more focused in the delts, traps, upper part of the chest. The kind of muscles you use when throwing strikes. When muscles get as bulky as your arms, it looks like all you do is lift weights because that amount of mass is going to impede movement ie. striking ability. I mean honestly when you see a MMA fighter that has super bulky muscles, they almost always gas out and lose. The only one who had a success with huge muscles was Overeem. But even his biceps weren't as disporportionately large as yours (though they are big and bodybuilder looking)

is there something that I am missing that states I'm a tough SOB? or training for combat/fighting? I train to keep my head straight and to put on some muscle. Overall, I don't think I am all that disproportionate. One pic doesn't tell the whole story. for example, the manager at the gym kept giving me sh!t about my legs.... "you wear sweats all the time because you have no legs". I showed her my legs, well, I guess you don't have small legs....

I will admit in that pic, it looks like I'm all arms

in saying all that, I have areas I would like to develop more, but for some chump that lifts at a "fitness center" style gym, I have a pretty decent overall build. @ ~200 lbs, I don't feel I am bulky enough to hinder my movement

in my clothes you really wouldn't think I lifted.... that's what I mean by unassuming.

for the record, I'm not a tough guy... I don't lift to be a bad@ss and I have no delusions about kicking anyone's ass, though, there are probably a lot of people there that would be easier targets that me.

This.

Since I've fallen apart, I've taken my Dad's attitude towards conflict. My Bro and I would talk smack and he would hold up his Colt Mustang...."Ready?"

And this.

I train to keep my head straight and to put on some muscle.
