Dangers of using the same foot? I would presume that 99.9% of the world use the same foot to accelerate and brake (not break btw) whether its a stick or an automatic.
It is much more complicated for your brain if you use right foot to accelerate and left foot to brake., One false signal and you are in the same predicament as OP
