I think I've met about two people so far in my life who held such beliefs so I wouldn't say that it is the norm for all Americans.

Hehe, i don't doubt that.

He's speaking to a full room, he's making videos, there must be some...

Again - what do that have to do with Americans? I'm sure there are some Christians in your country who believe in the same moronic ideas. I'm not denying that there are probably some people who believe this (probably a small amount - I've never met anyone who has).

Americans are the only ones that are this religious, look at many of Bush' voters.
People this rellious simply don't really exist in denmark, there's maybe 500 of them some place secluded.

Thanks for proving your bias against America. European elitism at it's best.

Meh, it's a fact that societies like this exist in the us, they don't exist in denmark at least, as i said, there might be 500 someplace in jutland. Now i've seen pictures from churches somewhere in the middle america, my mother visited them.
What i am asking is how many there are...
Now why am i biased against the US??

hey guess what? all these loonies originally came from your European countries.

I saw a Danish porn once. It had a woman having sex with a horse. I must conclude that people from Denmark are into beasitality.

Yes, but he's actually correct. In a poll done last year Americans were found to be the most religious of any 'western' nation (including people living in and around Vatican City). We also have the highest percentage of fundamentalist christians (again, as per polls which are obviously prone to some error).

America is a pretty scary place to anyone with a brain.

Contrary to the overwhelming opinion of ATOT, religious != extremist. This video is similar to the Baptist garbage they show Sunday mornings on BET, trying to make money off of the uneducated. It's just a small minority who are gullable enough to pay to hear this guy speak.

I'm sure many of you who criticise those people have also been taken advantage of at some point in your life. Not everyone is fortunate enough to learn otherwise.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'd rather live in America than anywhere else - and I think I have a brain.

Wth is your problem?

I'm not critizicing american or americans. But these societies of this extent only live in america.

Yeah, denmark in the 70's was a crazy place :)

Why the defensive?
God, you're confusing me.

More FUD.

Ok, I'm truly amazed that people are getting bent over my statement. People in America fill the media with incredulous reports of fundamentalists of other religions and their extreme views, then balk when actual studies point out the extremism present within our own borders.

Irony

Hypocrisy

Sure this guy doesn't represent everyone, or even the majority...but neither is it 40 guys out of a garage. America has the highest concentration of fundamentalists of any developed nation. *shrug* I'm not picking on anyone, just pointing that out. We're generally more religious than people who live around the Vatican...the Vatican for the love of Pete!!!

People are HONESTLY pushing legislation for ID to be called a science! At least one of our states has outlawed sex toys, while continuing to dominate the nation in poverty, lack of education, and discrimination! The second largest program of our Federal Bureau of Investigations right now is a war on legal pornography! We request our children pledge themselves daily to a combination of nation and God! We spend more than most other countries in the world combined on our military, but have large percentages of homeless, starving, and people without even basic medical care! Our crime rates our out of control, our jails overflowing!

I'm not saying we don't do good as well, nor do I wish to leave. However, I still say:

America is a pretty scary place to anyone with a brain.

5.6 million, so not very big :)

What i'm asking is, how many people like him are there, is it 1000, 10000?
Okay, i admit, i might be naive and imagine that these don't exist in europe, but that's because i never heard of them. What i have heard (from tv and my mom) is that these exist in the US, what i'm trying to establish is the amount of them.

I'm not biased against the US, i'm just curious. It's a big country and an entirely different country than european ones, geographically and historically.

Conservative Southern Baptists are some of the more fundamentalist/literalist congregations of the larger churches in America. They currently have more than 9 million members. Not that all of those will go quite as far as this guy, but they're pretty out there. There are a number of splinter and small independent churches that are far worse. I'd bet you could easily support an estimate of 10-20 million like this guy.

choose not to (they dont put the video on your tv)
of the extreme (the guys you watched on google)
religious (the ppl who practice religion)
people.

now, your gov't chooses NOT to help/aid/hurt them in their ways of following religion, while ours does.

I made an assumption that organized false-info spreading like this only existed to this extent in the US.
I thought that was a fact, but hey, apparently i've learned something to day that i should investigate. Or maybe you don't know what you're talking about, i dunno.

Your assumption was ok, but mine is stupid?

You assumption that my news won't show it because they're supposedly biased against the US shows how biased you are against europeans.

Yes my assumption might have been stupid. But i started out with the fact that these exist in the US and are visible, but are in no way visible in denmark. My assumption that they didn't exist int he rest of europe might be naive, but i've never heard of them, so yes, i might be naive, but that's not the point.
I was asking how many there were.

He never said that.

"I think your news is just not showing it because they choose not to."

That's how i enterpreted it. I may be wrong.

in lamens terms he ment

your news (the news shown in Denmark).
choose not to (they dont put the video on your tv)
of the extreme (the guys you watched on google)
religious (the ppl who practice religion)
people.

now, your gov't chooses NOT to help/aid/hurt them in their ways of following religion, while ours does.

You're aslways a kind guy :p

Hrm, i figured he thought i got info about religious nuts in america from the news, and he thought i didn't get any info about religious nuts in europe because they choose not to air it.
