3-year-old Selena Janik of Anderson County, Tennessee has displayed superior intelligence in her three short years of existence and has even joined the elite high IQ society, Mensa. WBIR TV 10 reports that Janik’s parents knew that their daughter was special from the moment she was born and as time went by, they noticed that she showed advanced reading and counting skills so they decided to get her IQ evaluated by the family’s local school system. Her intelligence test score was 135 on a composite scale and so high that it placed her IQ in the top 1% of the population.
Shortly after, Janik's father got a phone call that said his daughter had been accepted into Mensa. Membership in Mensa is reserved for people with IQ scores in the top 2%.
The future is bright for the young genius. Janik's mother said, "She told me the other day she said, 'Mommy what are the people who like molecules?' And I said, 'You mean a scientist?' She said, "Yes. I want to be a scientist when I grow up.'"
Her father added, "I just want her to be happy whatever path she chooses."

IQ tests measure ability to learn and understand, not accumulated knowledge. She is 3, there are going to be many many things she has not learned yet...

After all, she has only been learning from her parents who seem to not know the difference between a chemist and a scientist!

Why? I'm assuming she lives in Oak Ridge, which is the home of Y-12 and ORNL...lots of smart people in that area and a good school system. It definitely isn't Bucksnort, TN.
