Whole milk, nothing else. if I cant have whole milk I wont drink milk, that simple. Everything else is just watered down tasteless crap.

Naturally saturated fats are your bodies natural defense system. They resist oxidation. Your body needs fat. Diest may have lots of controversy, but chemistry is still chemistry.

Why not just take whole milk and add 3 parts water and 1 part sugar and 1 part white food coloring.. same thing basically.

Per Week:
Calories - 336
Fat (g) - 36.8
cholesterol (mg) - 144

Per Month:
Calories - 1,456
Fat (g) - 159.5
cholesterol (mg) - 624

Per Year:
Calories - 17,472
Fat (g) - 1913.6
cholesterol (mg) - 7488

Personally I think 1% tastes just as good as 2% (if not better) and there is a decent health benefit. Not bad I think 🙂
If you can't burn off 336 calories a week, you've got bigger problems than what kind of milk you're drinking bubba.

ZV <-- Will only drink whole milk.

i both agree and disagree with this statement. i agree that burning off 336 calories a week is nothing...one can burn off 400 calories by hitting the treadmill for 30-40 mins.

but i disagree in the sense that if OP needs urgent results, the loss of extra calories might help. if the OP doesnt mind switching...more power to him

I don't need any results. My family has just always bought 2%. I think 1% tastes better so I'm switching and I posted what the health benefits were to show others in case they might be interested.

I go to the gym regularly and burn at least 1600 calories a week from just my cardio. I'm sure I burn even more when you consider that I'm putting on muscle as well.

I like using 1% for cereal..but 2% is indeed better for drinking alone or with cookies/cake. I can drink 1% just fine though. Whole seems too thick..but doesn't taste bad to me. It is more like a treat.

When did I say I couldn't burn 336 calories in a week? I'm changing what I drink because it tastes just as good and I get an added health benefit. It's a win-win situation for me.
If you're burning the calories and are healthy now, then there's no benefit. You'll only benefit if you're already in a negative situation. If your body is effectively and healthily using the fat, cholesterol, and calories from the milk and you take them away, you're not going to get super-healthy or something.

Switching is all well and good, but it's not going to make you more healthy if you're not having problems resultant from the 2%.

I'm sure I get more than enough calories, fat and cholesterol from my other foods. If I can cut it down by making a change that I like it's a positive thing. I like the taste of 1% more.

Bleh, whatever man. Cod liver oil is the best fat source, followed closely by hemp oil and animal fats.

Whipping Cream + Baileys + Kaluha in my ceral damn it! 😛

Anything less than 2% tastes and looks like water with a small amount of milk added to me 🙁

I don't think I drink a gallon a week either so I'll risk the extra calories etc.

The difference is infinitesimal. If you're lucky, you'll live an extra minute or two from this.

ZV

EDIT: And what taste of 1%? There is no taste to 1% milk.

I can't tell the difference between skim and any of the others, except for the jug its in.

You get a film left over in your mouth with the fattier milks. I can live without that. I'll stick to my skim milk, whenever I actually drink any milk at all that is.

I cant believe someone would try to delude themsevles into saying the health benefits of 1% outwiegh 2% or whole to the extent that they would switch. Christ people, the health benefits from 2% to 1% is offset by the air you breathe in the city.

Not only that, but at the minimal levels 2% to 1% gives you you have to be an absolute hardline health FREAK to even notice it.
Eat out once per week? Sorry, you just ruined your gains by switching from 2% to 1%. Eat a bag of popcorn at the movies? Sorry, lost those gains. Picked up a candy bar at lunch? oops, so much for getting ahead.

Unless your some die hard pro Olympic athelete, the difference between 2% and 1% will NOT be noticed for the average person. Hell, even a health nut simply wont notice any difference between 2% and 1% milk unless their drinking GALLONS of it a day. Its just ridiculous to even fathom that as any type of substantial health benefit unless your at the very upper echelon of health and fitness. (ie...Olympic levels)

Skim milk for me. I just don't get people who say skim or 1% is "watered down", they remove the fat. They do not dilute whole milk with water.

Ok Mr. Technical, skim milk sucks ass because its fattened down.
Happy? 😛

I like whole milk the same reason I like good marbling in my steaks.
Fat = flavor

WTF, just put a team spoon of powder milk in a cup of water and stir next time. Low Fat milk = water + powder milk.
