I got used to 1% in college mostly because is was 20 cents cheaper than 2%...buy one half gallon a week...by years end i had saved $10...not that much but when ur getting by in college every little bit helps
cholesterol (mg) - 7488
This is also a HUGE factor to people (like myself) whos family's have a history of high cholesterol...every little bit less helps...

336 calories per week x 52 weeks = 17,472 calories per year.
17,472/3500 (calories in a pound) = 5 pounds a year from milk.

The problem is this information the OP gives us is in a vacuum. Does he eat McD's twice a week? If so, the type of milk he drinks is the least of his concerns. Does he have a candy bar once a week? Again, same deal. Its like I said, changing your milk type for health reasons is going to be all but ineffective unless you have a medical condition (lactose intolerant) or are in the upper echelon of physical health...ie Olympic levels.

Now, saying your switching to skim milk for taste is another matter entirely. Thats reasonable. But going from 2% to skim for health reasons? Its just a hollow statement.

IMO there is something seriously wrong with counting calories. I understand being cognizant of your intake on any given day, but having to switch from 2% to 1% just seems absurd; if it's so bad that such a change is required there are more problems than the fat content of your milk, imo.

😀

alright good job, i went from whole, 2%, 1%, and now i'm on skim milk. I have lost alot of weight and u can drink more of the skim and not feel bloated and full

I dont drink milk (probably drank less than 10 glasses of milk over the last 10 years). But i do eat the yogurt my mom makes (from Vitamin D whole milk).
