A remedy for masturbation which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment.
There is no question Kellogg was a total fruit, being co-founder of Seventh Day Adventists, which was little more than a cult at the time, but he was hardly a pioneer of puritanical-based medicine. Repressed homosexuality, excessive masturbation, and nocturnal 'emissions' were prevailing theories explaining organic illness, and undesirable or pathologic behavior of virtually every stripe when Kellogg attended medical school.

The practice of tying a wire to the foreskin so that erection is painful is attributed by Kellogg to one Dr. Archibald, Superintendent of the Iowa Asylum for Feeble-Minded Children.

In Plain Facts for Old and Young, Kellogg advised that the first line defense against excessive masturbation was parental vigilance, admonishment, education, and keeping children busy (idle minds), not circumcision. Circumcision was a remedy where others had failed, and only especially appropriate when there "is any degree of phimosis" (for which circumcision is still medically indicated today).

Kellogg also wrote of circumcision:
The fold of integument called the prepuce, which has been previously described, has upon its inner surface a large number of glands which produce a peculiar secretion. Under certain circumstances, and from inattention to personal cleanliness, this secretion may accumulate, and then often becomes the cause of irritation and serious disease. To prevent such disorders, and to insure cleanliness, the Jewish law required the removal of the prepuce, which constituted the rite of circumcision. The same practice is followed by several modern nations dwelling in tropical climates; and it can scarcely be doubted that it is a very salutary one, and has contributed very materially to the maintenance of that proverbial national health for which the Jews are celebrated. Eminent physicians have expressed the opinion that the practice would be a salutary one for all men.

-- Plain Facts for Old and Young : Embracing the Natural History and Hygiene of Organic Life
Here Kellogg himself is plainly stating the prevailing medical opinion at the time by "eminent physicians" was that circumcision be routinely performed for reasons of health and hygiene. Cha-ching

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harvey_Kellogg

Kellogg also said it should be done without anesthsia, and maintained a clinic where the only treatment was enemas. Role model, eh? Those 'eminent physicians'? This guy was psycho- probably sock puppets that he talked to to validate the rest of his crap.

Anyway, I'm going in for my checkup now.

Yep, tomorrow is the day. Hopefully, I will get something good enough that I won't remember what's going on for a few days. Frankly, this is not something that I want to experience or remember.

Update!
The burning question: How much sensation did you lose?
The burning answer: A WHOLE FREAKING LOT.

Man, that's sad... but soooo funny. Sorry about laughing LOL

But you'll be able to last longer now! So i'm sure the woman is happy!

If I had known I was going to lose as much sensitivity as I did, I would not have gotten circumsized until it was a last resort. The old saying about the palm of your hand vs. the back is an understatement- the nerve endings in my foreskin gave me a completely different dimension of sensation, but now it's gone. Crap.

So there it is, people, proof from a cognizant person who knows the before and after: Circumcision DEFINATELY reduces the amount of sensation in your penis by an large amount- maybe even half. It's not a percentage, nor is it accurate to say half- it's a whole different set of sensations that complement and add to sexual pleasure. I'm sorry for all you guys who never got to know that sensation- it's FAR superior to what I have now.

Penis, I'm sorry.

I'll never forget the time we had together with our foreskin. 🙁
RIP Foreskin

The conclusion: If you hate your child, have him circumcised.
you know this after one month? i would consult with your doctor and see if the healing process can be complete after one month.

Ok that's disgusting. I was thinking more of sentimental reasons...

No, I haven't asked him about it after the fact, but I did before, and he told me that it was to be expected.

That is correct, my orgasms are much less intense. It's like riding a bicycle with one wheel.

Meh. I've always been cut.
When I asked my mom why, she's like, "Because it was just the thing to do back then".

I got pissed off. 🙁
Hell, my dad wanted to leave mine alone.

Are you having problems wearing underwear? I read a thread like this once on the healthboard.com and they had a problem wearing underwear (briefs) for as long as 6 months after the op because the rubbing of the underwear on the penis head was irritating them.

sorry to hear that, but i think it's still too early to expect full recovery. i wonder if you are leary of sex hurting since you've had recent surgery and therefore don't relax.

because i am not going to believe that circumcised guys don't have intense orgasms.

yeh, if the healing takes that long than OP still has recovery time going on.

Hmm- kind of. Positioning is an art now. Sometimes, riding a bicycle causes the glans to rub against the inside seam of my pants through the briefs, which is very uncomfortable.

Why so afraid to beleive what I'm telling you? I can certainly say that there is a whole part of my penis that is MIA and no longer reporting to my brain, and that that piece of my penis carried a SIGNIFICANT load of the pleasure-sensing, which is now gone.

My question to you TitanDaddy is the following: "Should I take what I have read of your experience as THE reason not to have my future children clipped and let them make the decision on their own?" In very passing discussion, my gf mentioned that she'd probably want to get any future children clipped and I didn't want to start a fight so I didn't say anything, but if it's as bad as you say it is, I'll dig my heels in when the time comes.

so you aren't completely healed. give it time. i don't think you are at full go yet.

It has nothing to do with completely healed. It's not the penis head that gets cut, it's the skin. The reason why it can be irritating wearing underwear is that he's had the foreskin protect his penis head all these years, and now without it, it's rubbing against the material. Circumcized people have had years for the penis head to lose sensitivity from all the rubbing.
