I agree (not to the Michael D part). While there is some truth to it, it doesn't apply to those who are clinically depressed.

You really don't get it. The reason why most of these cries for help are from 15-16 year olds is that they are surrounded by family. The father yells, the mom backs the dad, the siblings don't want to get involved. That's why it's important to console them now.

You just wait. One of these days, someone is going to post a letter of their depression, you're going to troll them, and that person is going to drink bleach. THen you're going to call him a "stupid suicide n00b" and say that he should have used a gun.

I have never flamed or insulted somebody who I thought was being serious. Remember the one guy who was having a horrible month and came on here? Then he came back a month later and said how much happier he was and thanked ATOT for helping him out. If it's really serious, I think most people offer help.

clinical depression isnt a joke, its not simply a "mood". manic depression isnt either its actually hereditary. which is why suicide usually runs down a family tree.

Thank you. Sometimes people are posting here or wherever just to get attention, however, any suicide thought is a bad thought and someone is in need of help. Luckily I got help when I needed it.

and for the record, im 32. from the time i was 12 and strong enough, i was lifting my parapalegic father in and out of bed to take him to the hospital, cleaning up his vomit and sh!t, emptying his piss bag, cleaning the wounds from his gangrene, changing the dressings from his dual leg amputations, and on and on. matter of fact at the age of 19 i was giving him cpr due to the heart attack that finally put him out of his misery.

Not gonna happen. I man up and face my problems, not get all depressed and try to off myself.

Nothing but pure opinion here, not going to insult or quote anybody.

For those who say they're weak and everything, yeah I'll agree on that, but that doesn't mean that they should end themselves. As much as natural selection may play on the planet today, it doesn't really apply to people at this day and age. I know, through friends that have went through this, that they can grow to be very good people to society, that's (ideally) what prisons are for as well.

Usually, I can tell if it's a cry for attention, so I don't usually regard them when that happens.

On a side note, I'd like to say thanks for the comments on my YAGT. I really thought I'd get flamed on that thread, but ATOT really helped me a lot more than they think they did. ATOT remained supportive, just what I needed.
