I <3 Hulu

My girlfriend went and bought two 360 arcades because she wanted to cancel our TV service and stream Hulu since there were no shows on cable that she wanted that were not already on Hulu.

Oi. Review my (numerous) threads in various other non OT forums. When the arcade deal was going on, went and bought two 360 arcades to populate the living and bedroom LCD TV's with streaming content. Our entire house is networked and I have a small server room with a DL360 that currently does nothing but stream Hulu via PlayOn.

It has absolutely nothing to do with a woman's interest in technology and everything to do with a woman wanting to watch House, Fringe, 30 Rock, etc - and the fact that Hulu streams better quality than SD television (which many of the shows she wants to watch are on, thus no HD option).

Compare the cost of Cable TV, Cable Internet, Premium Cable package, HD Tuner, DVR on a yearly basis to owning 1 360 Elite, 2 360 Arcades, Cable Internet, and a $20 one-time use piece of software and the 360's pay for themselves in three months. On top of that, you watch what you want, when you want, and only deal with 15 second commercials.

I mean, ignorance is bliss and all, but come on. Use logic every once in a while and break out of the retard lifer OT syndrome for me. Thinking is hard but I'm sure you can do it.

Wow... talk about an overreaction.

Perhaps. It's been a pretty bad day for me and I've only been awake for 45 minutes, so when I accidentally replied to this post before the realization that it was OT set in I was preparing myself for a lot more stupidity than I was presented with. I probably did overreact.

Sarcasm meter repair. Did you call?

Bad quality, limited selection. Not cancelling cable anytime soon but Boxee + Hulu/ABC/NBC/CBS/Netflix etc is a good deal.

Only bad quality if you have shitty/cheap internet. With 10MB Cable it uses approximately 2.5MB to stream at high quality which owns the shit out of SD TV.

Limited selection? Are you serious? It's intended to be a broadcast medium for the major networks, and as far as that goes it basically carries every single top show and then some. The ONLY show I can think of offhand that Hulu does not provide that I would like to see is Mythbusters.

Shit as far as selection goes Hulu makes Netflix look like an ant next to a Airbus.

fuck Hulu

Maybe if you guys actually mattered to the market they would cater to you. But too few of you sit at your computers all day watching TV and torrenting our IP when you should be working, that you have no money to actually _buy_ anything the advertisers are advertising. No, you have nobody to blame but yourself for not getting hulu in your country. /sarcasm.
