I wish I could get the plugin working on my XBMC..

And I did...

The entire Hulu collection accessable from my couch on my HDTV == massive win.

What's the easiest way to mod an XBox for this purpose? I have one that's been sitting around collecting dust but if I can get XBMC on it, it'll have a whole new life.

I bought one pre-modded. 😱

I'm guessing finding someone local to mod it via cragslist would be the quickest and cheapest. It requires a few tools to do it yourself, so it's not very efficient/cost-effective to just do one.

There's probably a few people on this forum who would do it, so you'd just be out shipping (granted, for a honking big box, both ways.)

Softmod would be the easiest method, you can do it yourself, you just have to have the proper things (a certain game, an Action Replay kit.)

I think we have identified the problem here, and it's definitely not with Hulu..

Are you serious? Of the few I would watch (The Thing, Lock Stock) I've seen them 100x already. Compared to even basic cable that lineup is shit.

you are still the issue here not Hulu

I rarely use Hulu, but it's good for what it is. I use my Media Server that's hooked up to my TV to play the videos so no need for any sort of xbox-based streaming.

Either having someone with a modded XBOX hack it for you or use the James Bond: Agent Under Fire hack which requires the aforementioned game, the hacked save file and an Action Replay or an Action Replay memory card that already has the save file on it.

It's really easy to do. Well, the only difficulty I had was getting the XBOX to recognize the AR memory card as it seemed to never do so half the time.

playon failed yesterday as it refused to play the episode 4 of battlestar galactica (360 citing unable to decode of some sort). I was glad that I hadn't spend a dime on it yet.

and it failed many times when i tried to rewind (not happening), or when I tried to jump to the last chapter (took like 5 minutes for it to search back)

Playon has been too spotty for me to invest even $20 on it, but the convenience is great.. when it works..

Watching Hulu right now on my Dell D600 (1.4GHz Pentium M, 1GB RAM and 10 mbps broadband) full screen (480p). I just don't get the stuttering problem people have with Hulu, your machines must be loaded down with shit.

The only time I get stuttering on streaming media is when my internet connection starts to crap out. And it's easily solved by pressing play, then pausing it immediately and finding something else to do for 10-15 minutes while more of the video loads.

Posting this Article here for more exposure. Hulu no longer works on Boxee, and I hear that the XBMC plugin doesn't work anymore. Can anyone test and verify this since I'm at work? That would truly suck as I've only been using it for about a week.

Thread over in Audio / Video

Just tested on XBMC and it didn't work, hopefully they can find a way around this.

It's FREE, you tool!

I like hulu but the audio quality leaves something to be desired. Video is as good as OTA digital SD, but the audio sounds like a bad payphone connection.. I never bothered to register or anything. Are better quality streams available once you do register? Is there more content available? The only thing I watch there currently is pretty much family guy and american dad. I torrent the rest of the shows I watch in proper HD formats.

edit: I'm on a 3mbit DSL line
