What is your reaction?

My honest reaction? Don't give a fuck. They FAFO'd

Article doesn't say if he voted for Trump but if he didn't likely would have said so.

This excerpt from the article. It's not hard to understand, you voted Republican. It's just that simple. We all knew this was coming and we warned you over and over.
Families like mine are struggling to make sense of this rapidly shifting landscape. Lack of clear and accessible information, fear of impending federal cuts and proactive state reductions in Medicaid have left me and others confused and angry. Parents of disabled children don’t have the time to hunt down details buried in evasive political jargon that have the potential to upend their lives. Moms like me are simply trying to keep our heads above water and keep our children alive. Life with a child like David is hard in ways I cannot fully explain — unless you have also cared for a medically fragile, physically disabled and intellectually impaired child 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for four years.

I don't like feeling this way but if you were willing to fuck over the country just to maintain power then so be it.

It's unfortunate that she likely steeped herself in right-wing media sources and didn't actually see this coming, but it is what she voted for.
I’m also here to tell you why I’m an unlikely supporter of the program. My son’s life depends on government assistance
Like a typical Republican, she cares because it affects her directly.
I am a Medicaid provider because I am paid to care for my son
I think this is where the normal prescription is bootstraps? This sounds an awful lot like that dang'ol "socialism" or some woke shit.
How we care for our most vulnerable reveals what we believe about ourselves. I’m just one mother, and David is just one child. But this affects your neighbors. This affects you. At one point or another most of us will lose our independence, health, rationality and will. Eventually we will rely wholly on someone else to care for us. Dependence, weakness, need of others: These are features, not bugs, of the human experience.
And yet... she's a registered Republican. The Republican platform is not about taking care of each other, it's FYGM all the way down. It's the party of "maybe some old people should just die" during the pandemic, the anti-maskers, the "how dare you say we can't gather" and "how dare you make us vaccinate to protect us from measles" party.

Next time, vote for what the person says they stand for, not the letter in the parentheses behind their name.

You voted for this, out of blind loyalty to a party, or that you didn't pay attention, or that after 30,000+ lies in his first term you thought he was an honest man.

I hate it for your son, but you are now in the Find Out phase of FAFO

Given their actions and their intentions...

In 1940s there was one solution to German Nazis.
In 2020s, there is one solution to MAGA Nazis.
Guess this one got away before we got our vengeance.

Maybe, but here are some real shitbags we can point and laugh FAFO at. Feel bad for Irma's daughter, mommy's racism gonna make her have to work the streets.

I can't watch it. Fake news was sarcasm. As hard as it is to understand the total disregard the power players in the Republican and even the Democratic establishment has for the poor, and while I fully understand my contempt for people too asleep to see they brought their own misery on by voting for Trump. I just can't help also feeling self contempt for myself when I feel that. Those poor poor pathetic people for whom life is endless misery. There can't surely be any real happiness in this world when people suffer like that.

Maybe you should.

I wonder if many conservatives have a compulsive need:

I hate to say it cause you are owed those tears. But this sentiment is little like govtous defeatism, why? Cause you need to pull these people back if you want to have a chance

Right, I should learn to hate more.
There comes a point where you might need to drive a dagger through someones heart simply in order to defend your own life. How do you propose to do that? With love?

Tears?
Nazis are dealt with in blood. But if you're not ready to see it, we got plenty of time for them to prove it to you.
  • Military on our streets.
  • Concentration Camps.
  • Tyrannical emergency powers to bypass law.
This, America 2025, is Nazi Germany Redux. Tears won't get us anywhere.

Voters are adults who have agency and we should stop pretending that they don't. This person helped make the bed, so they can sadly wallow with us in what they helped to foist onto us.

Bro and I were talking about grandma and step-grandpa last night.
They were part of that rabid anti-communism mentality from the 50's, even though Bert would regale my brother in how they communally harvested grains on the neighboring farms. It was turn of the century and they had a single stationary thresher or other belt driven monstrosity, and it was moved from farm to farm. Everybody turned out at each farm and worked together, imagine that?
He did not connect the dots well.
When Medicare was created, those two were THE first ones in the county to sign up for it and were featured in a newspaper article.
Hard to make this shit up.

I have no issue feeling that way. People don’t take responsibility for their actions.

I had an uncle who railed against social security…. He was a diabetic and did. It watch his diet. Went blind. Lost a foot. But he had no issue cashing is government cheese checks..

So. I was like what ever

Numerous instances in world history suggest otherwise.
And not sure which half he's talking about.

For instance, I had this marvelous idea to set up a small manufacturing operation to make Adolf Hitler Christmas Cookies. With Ricin. Then we would need to build The List. Like subscribers to the Daily Stormer and other sources.
