I sure do hope they evacuated, moved to safe spots in Ft Myers, wow what a surge
Seriously. I don't remember another hurricane that produced 55+ winds at the Port from that far away.My sister reports that in Orlando, conditions have deteriorated to "breezy". It's weird that Cocoa Beach is getting hit harder now.
Or. Hear me out... Storms are getting worse.^^ The Worst Channel drama-casters say that every time the wind blows or a rain drop falls.
It's gonna be the worst ever to hit the planet!!!! It's just the worst ever and ever.

Of all the terrible ideas you've had, this is the terriblest.Wish we had a weather forum.

Exactly the point, even at ATOT's peak I don't think there would have been enough dedicated weather discussion to support an entire sub-forum. I'm sure there's got to be at least one dedicated forum out there for weather geeks.Actually I think a weather-forum would be cool but I doubt it would generate enough activity here.

If Trump were president, he would redirect it with his sharpie. Or just nuke it. But now he doesn't even like DeSantis.I’m sure DeSantis has FL well prepared, lol
Virtually every forecast for the mountains of NC is 5+ inches. We live on the high ground, so trees blowing down and taking the power out are our concern. That's only through Saturday morning. The Appalachians are in for a hogging.
nah, it'd be - Hey Desantis , catchIf Trump were president, he would redirect it with his sharpie. Or just nuke it. But now he doesn't even like DeSantis.
Videos like that are tough to watch. I wonder who those cars belong to? The owners must have known that leaving their car there, the cars would certainly be totaled? Did they just say screw it I will file a claim later?
You guys hang in there. My daughter lives and works in the Estero area. She and a friend drove in the friend's car to the friend's parent's house on the lower east coast of FL before Ian hit. They missed the main part of Ian coming through but she left her car in Estero. She lives on the third floor of an apartment building just of few miles from Fort Myers beach so her apartment is probably OK but the first floor must be flooded out. We expect her car to be flooded out and totaled and she's not going to be able to get to her apartment for a while or work.
Meanwhile we are in north Tampa Bay and have a place at Clearwater Beach. It looks like we dodged a bullet. I grew up in New Orleans and have been through at least a half a dozen hurricanes since the sixties but it's still scarey and a challenge making a decision to evacuate especially when you have a 94yo M-I-L living with you. Live is a challenge.
