Hurricane Dorian thread

Hmm, just looked up Mar-a-Lago, it's in Palm Beach. That is just about smack dab between the two projected likely bulls-eyes for Dorian, i.e. the USA and the European computer modeling. Guess it may indeed be wiped off the map. I think I'd do a little jig.
Hating and despising the Spawn of Satan is not bad. I was just hoping that Donald-Beelzebub would take all of his cabinet and 100 of his biggest contributors down to Maro-Lago as a lark, for which he would sell them on the idea of being able to watch the hurricane.

Then, with enough wind, storm surge, tornadoes and flooding, they'd all be fast-tracked for their one-way cruise to Hell, where the Evil One will eat their souls and shit them out over and over in an eternity of eternities.

Also -- an afterthought, even if off topic.

Is there any way, once we are free of the Trump Albatross, that the cabinet and staff can be deprived of further employment other than cleaning toilets and picking strawberries for the rest of their lives?

I just want a thousand eyes for an eye. And a hurricane only has one eye . . . .

It still blows my mind that such a tiny change in atmospheric composition can have such an enormous effect on energy levels.

So... Wait... What? Man made climate change might be real? What kind of Conservative are you? You might be one of those soft headed libtard heretics!

Trump isn't worried about his beloved showplace being blown away. He has the weight of the whole Russian economy backing him.

That resort will be back up and running in no time flat although the resort would have to have its name changed to something more Slavic in nature.

I'm sure that Mar-a-Lago is well insured & that his business team can beat the cash right out of 'em. Every last penny.

If the eye of the storm passes directly over the place Evangelical preachers will claim it's the work of the Devil against God's chosen leader for America. It's what demon worshipping leftists prayed for, isn't it?

I figure that a whole bunch of Floridians will take the hit, one way or another, so let it be Trump. Maybe I am a demon worshiper...

Well it’s only causing us to retain 0.12% more energy from the sun. But when the sun transmits 174.6 Petawatts of power to the Earth......
.12% energy increase from .025% atmospheric composition change. That's a big delta from a tiny change.

There is little doubt I'm soft headed, almost certainly a heretic, but I'll never make libtard because I firmly believe people are the problem, not the solution. But you knew that already.

Remember Trump still has the option to nuke it.
About as effective as trying to blow out all 1000 candles on the 1000 year candle cake with one huff and puff.

Someone left the cake out in the rain...

You doubt the math of thousands of climate scientists who are devoting their lives to their science just because the delta and epsilons look kind of queer to you?

Didn't say I doubted them, I said it was a big delta from a small change, and it is.
The first sentence is a zero sum. Those folks aren't devoting their lives any more than any other working person in the country. I also need to ask the obvious question, is there really thousands of scientists studying the problem? Thousands seems like a lot.

I don't have the figures, but it doesn't seem unlikely to me. There are a lot of scientists out there. Most are not famous, you don't hear from those, but a whole lot of them know their marbles.

I'd guess it's like every other profession, they run from exceptional to just good enough to not get fired.
Overall science has been incredible to say the least.

I'm sure there are, world wide. Atmospherics & oceanographics are a developed field of study. Scientists can be just as driven as business tycoons, just in a different direction.

Always makes me laugh how people are lining up to buy water bottles.

There is a reason why I always make sure I have 4+ cases in reserve at all times.

Gas is another animal though - I can certainly understand not holding on to it, especially because it can separate and screw shit up if you let it sit around for a long time.

Cash is another thing people need to have on hand. It's the only way to buy things when the power is out. Hopefully people have already pulled money out since it may be tough to get on a holiday weekend.

I bought just one case, (from where I work), really, in all the hurricanes I've been through in FL the water never goes out. Even if it might just scrub clean your bathtub, rinse it thoroughly, fill with water and a few drops of bleach. People are obsessed with it, most stores have a 2 case limit so people are scouring social media to see who has it in stock. I prefer apple juice anyway, ice cold on the rocks. As for gas, it's king after a storm, a genny running a fridge, small window AC, a TV or computer will need about 5-7 gallons/day.

god hates trump.

Trump: I'm the chosen one!
God: Mother fucker....

The total change, expressed as a percentage of the entire atmosphere, is around .025%. Perhaps that's a great deal in physics, as a percentage it isn't all that much.
One way to have such a feeling is to be surprised because of lack of familiarity with the fundamentals of the phenomenon described. Another way is to be suspicious of people because they have fooled you in the past and perhaps even made fun of your gullibility. Something to think about.

I would add that the people who may have lied to you in your past hurt themselves a lot more by doing so than they could ever hurt you. You can let go of the hurt and return to a predestine state but they will have to repent to get their self respect back.

Ask Venus.

Back on the subject of Bribe-a-largo Trump says he may be left homeless but that isn’t what concerns him.

Did he forget about the White House and the gold plated shitter he has in NYC?

Interesting observation that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. But since we're there, why are a few of you so defensive about a simple and reasonably accurate observation? I didn't make up those numbers, they came from a climate science site. And they are a little surprising, at least to me. It indicates that our atmosphere is at a very delicate balance. Why is this triggering anyone? These are simple observations, and grade school level math.

When I clicked on this thread I thought it was going to actually contain some information about the hurricane. You know information about the path, who will be affected, how strong it is expected to be at land fall ect....Maybe some information I missed but no it didn't

All I got out of this thread is a bunch of arm chair P&N nerds going off in a circle jerk about Trump and the destruction of his resort on the first page and then some bs about Venus, climate change, and percentages of climate change compared to Venus on the third page. Oh and course a little more Trump mockery peppered in for good measure. I didn't even bother reading the second page.

Jesus christ you guys......this whole thread is really sad. I know I'm going to get hammered for posting this opinion but IDC. You all managed to make a hurricane/natural disaster politically biased and that's disheartening.
