Don't be troll. . . I suppose you think Dirt2 is crappy port cause it encourage you to play with a gamepad? its a damned racing game. Theres nothing wrong with a console port as long as its done well.
Of course Crysis 2 isn't a port, if you would use the 3 brain cells you have to do some research you know that.
You're a bit dense aren't you? Dirt 2 has nothing to do with Crysis at all. One's a racing game that's easily feasible on both platforms. The other is a open ended shooter that's the sequel to the best looking game ever made.
Some of you guys have issues differentiating between Cryengine 3 and Crysis 2, which are in fact NOT the same thing.
Cryengine 3 is going to be one of the best engines developed with hopefully good scalability. I hope its takes over UE3 since it looks far better. It's taking the best of CE2 and optimizing it. It could be used for multiplatform, or it could be used for making PC only games. It's the choice of the developer.
On the other hand, Crysis 2 is multiplatform. It is bound to the constraints of the 360 and PS3. Do you realize we're talking about Crysis running on a X1800 and 7800 respectively. There's a limit to how far optimization can go. The fact is that the open world jungle is not possible on consoles, which is why they switched to a city which is far less intensive.
You are limited to 512mb of shared memory to fit everything. Cryengine 3 will do it's best to run everything well on all platforms, but the huge sprawling maps of Crysis will have to be left to mod makers.
