I must be weird. I thought the trailer was really cheesy, the narration part anyway. Maybe, if I had ever played Crysis 1, this video would have brought out more excitement in me.

No, I agree. I thought Rod Sterling came back from the dead there for a minute.

I am someone that generally has fairly powerful rigs, so it has nothing to do with not accessing features.

The game does not utilize resources efficiently. End of story.

The game is still the most technically advanced game on the market.

People need to stop whining.

Is it just me or do the graphics look only decent by today's standards?

I think it looks fine, but I also think that it's hard to tell on compressed youtube footage and such. Plus a lot of the gameplay footage released may have been console gameplay.

another pretty game with no substance, just like the 1st?

Actually, they've openly admitted the original game story wasn't all it could have been. They hired a seasoned, respected sci-fi writer to put together the story for the 2nd. Richard Morgan. There's even a novel coming out. They are really into the story. (still doesn't mean that it will be good, just trying to show that they are trying).

Also, the brought in alot of new level designers. For instance, this guy

Crytek's Daniel Phillips designs levels for Crysis 2 for a living. Prior to joining Crytek, Daniel worked on games such as Borderlands, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Duke Nukem Forever. He has extensive knowledge on UnrealEditor, id's Radiant and, of course, CryEngine 3.

They also bought out the company Free Radical to develop the multiplayer component. Free Radical is essentially the bulk of the team that produced GoldenEye64 and PerfectDark.

And they even went as far as to use nine inch nails for the latest trailer.

=)

That makes me happy. I hope it is good!

Hmmm....a sucky game, a game I've never even heard of, and a game that has been in development for what, 15 years, and still isn't out and may never come out? I'm so confident there....

Borderlands was freaking awesome. Never heard of it either. Just because 3D Realms was terrible doesn't mean the levels were going to suck, so this one is hard to judge.
