Lame partisan finger pointing or not, you can bet this will be brought up in a big way if/when Huckabee runs for president again.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we can fix at least some of the blame for a killer on the guy who freed him to kill again.

What are you talking about, Mr. Clemmons was never convicted of killing anyone, therefore how could he have been "freed...to kill again"?

Based on the writings of Obama and some of his allies it is likely that Obama would have supported Huckabee's move when it happened 9 years ago.

I believe that Obama was very involved in trying to reform the juvenile justice system in Illinois in order to prevent people like this guy from being locked away for life based on their actions as teenagers.

The real problem in this case is everything that has come since this guy was set free 9 years ago.

Meh. They want to throw out Huckabees name because it suits their agenda. Pierce county, a county run by liberals let him go after he raped a child. 8 felony arrests in Washington state and he was still on the loose.

Its really sad when people want to turn a great tragedy into something political. 9 children left fatherless and the first thing that happens is the press starts politicizing it.

Sounds like someone doesn't remember Dukakis? And I'm not sure how you can blame the press (or anyone else) for wondering about the political repurcussions when a criminal had his sentence commuted by a governor who did pretty well in his last presidential run and is likely to give it another go. Fair or unfair, he's probably going to have to come up with a response to this. Welcome to politics.

A correction for my good pedantic friend Corn, if you free a felon you should probably share some of the blame for when he commits more felonies. Keep reaching for that rainbow!

I hope Obama succeeds in doing just that actually. Do you think that juvenile offenders should be locked away for life?

Exactly how is he blameless? Sure, he doesn't deserve all of the blame but I don't get how he doesn't share it.

Well, it's just based on the little I've read about the incedent - that MH commuted his sentence, which made him eligible for parole, but that the justice dept and parole board botched the case.

Which is a wonderful thing, IMO.

I agree, though I'd much prefer it happen a different way

Hell, let's go back and blame this on his 4th grade teacher who didn't give him an A on his spelling test which may have led to his criminal behaviors.

Crap like this is why we end up with nobody but douchebags in elected office, of both parties.

That's some serious grasping at straws there. :D

several of Huckabee's pardons/recommendations to the parole board were questionable
more ammo against Huck in the 2012 primary, fine with me , I can't support the man for national political office, he should stick to playing bass

LOL
He did it on the recommendation of the parole board.
The man was arrested again and violated parole.

This shooting is so far removed from Huckabee it is a joke. His name being thrown in this story is nothing more than politics not news.

A sad day when a group tries to use the death of 4 police officers for political gain when Huckabee wasn't involved.

Huck is done. Guy should have been in prison 98 years per statute but was let out after 8 by Huckabee. Especially so since he runs on the Republican ticket who are law and order types unlike liberals who even after this would pardon him.

sadly for huckster, subtlety and nuance don't play well in national elections :)

So if this gets used during the election cycle, and it probably will, I guarantee it will be used in the Primaries and will come first from another (R).

My money is on Romney since they supposedly hate each other.

Wow, just wow. If Huck ever had any intentions of running for office ever again, those chances have just been nuked. Or should I say, "Willie Horton'd?"

Interesting that Huck tops most GOP polls asking who they'd prefer to run for President in 2012. Or at least, he USED to top those polls.

LOL!

Wow, I honestly wish that it had been me that had taken as gospel the misleading thread title and further perpetuating its falsness through my own commentary without regard to investigating the facts myself. Of course you are correct, it should be I who should be chastised for bringing up the aforementioned trivialities. What was I thinking?!!!!!

Well you were probably thinking that by correcting someone on a fact that was tangential to the point he was trying to make that you could score some points. Why do you ask?

You're trying just a little too hard here.
