Why bother when it is your own party standing in the way

I know, him and Sinema, thats why I'd go shopping on the other side .. there is a couple of independents in the Senate too right? Murkowski is up 22, she might to want to put some weight behind a super popular bill(also on R side)

Accepting the spin of a source like the Examiner is pure folly. We're not even three months in after the transfer of power, moving at the speed of Congress.

He has been on camera saying he doesn’t want to change it and he also implies that modifying it might be okay. MIGHT.
When should I expect the speed of Congress to get this done? 6 months, one year, two years or more and hope there is still a D majority?

If they don't get it done soon the right has already demonstrated an ability to drag this out for over 3 years, so the midterms would be lost and thus maybe the last best chance.

I agree, but unfortunately I doubt it will happen until probably the fall. Manchin and Sinema will need cover for any decision to modify the filibuster and vote for HR1. The cover being, see, for months and months now the GOP has done nothing but obstruct every piece of legislation, so we had no choice. For that reason alone, I don't think it's going to happen that soon.

Exactly, this needs all hands on deck. Someone like Manchin needs to realize he may lose his seat over it but that is a sacrifice he needs to make.

Thats what I dont get. Sinema and Manchin need to a come to Jesus meeting of they don't understand that they're sitting idly by while the repubs skew their own electorate against them for some made up "principle" that only they want to abide by.

It's not good optics, it's worse politics and orders of magnitude worse strategy.

It's like hitting on a hard 19. That was a blackjack reference for some of our slower members.

Not to mention if they value their political career over the well-being of society they aren't any better than any Republican.

I am not sure? HR-1 one is widely popular dems and reps a-like

(which is bad news if you are a dark money Koch mf'er to buy elections.)

But should give someone like Manchin all the cover he needs? Unless. Of course. He too is financed by this "dark money".

He needs to realize that the driver's seat he seems to think he's on, is only there because of the GA Senate wins. Get a clue jackass.

The brain child of the right wing douchebagosphere speaks out on long lines to vote. And his neanderthal like right-wing listeners will nod and drool like this is deep thought

Didn't listen to the video, but that quote is absurd. Because long lines at Disneyland ARE "ride suppression." The idea that no one is deterred by multi hour waits for...well anything, is just contrary to common sense.

Contrary to common sense (hell even uncommon sense...any sense at all) is the theme of the modern GQP.

Infra bills probably won't hit till around August/September. In the meantime there are a lot of appointments to fill, judges to confirm, and possibly a SCOTUS seat to consider that you're not going to want to get caught up in this. Later in the year after the Dems have emptied the reconciliation clip and done confirmations is when this goes hot.

I started sending emails to Georgia based companies like Coca Cola, and tweeted at them, that I would not use their products until they actively fought the voter restriction laws in Georgia. This shit can't stand.

Coke, following Delta, has just taken a big dump on the Georgia GOP

GA Republicans are discussing how to punish companies that disagree with them.
A "cancellation" if you will.

Remember how Republicans whipped themselves into a frenzy lying about some story they made up where Obama was using the IRS to target his political enemies? As I predicted Republicans had no problem with it, they just thought it was mistargeted.

They aren't even trying to hide the corruption anymore - Trump really tore the mask off. It's going to be a rocky few years as they have clearly given up even the pretense of trying to win in a democratic sense - they see the writing on the wall and they are going to use every lever they have to cling to power.

When the GOP complains about made up bullshit like that people need to pay attention because it's actually projection and they want to do such things to Democrats.

Like Tucker nodding along that Rs will reluctantly resort to open fascism because the Democrats have beaten them to it with...Joe Biden. The reality is they just find fascism attractive and want to do a lot more of it but not accept any responsibility for that choice.

...
Actually, it's projection and what they have been doing typically for decades...not something they want to start doing.

At a minimum they think fascism is preferable to having the democrats in power. Once the GOP gets executive power next I think there’s a strong chance they will refuse to give it up.
