The question is, does that mean HP EPP (which is way more than just HP employees) or if it's an internal HP site. The linked internal memo indicates it's just for employees.

They advertised Touchpads as part of their "US grand opening sale" and I tell you, I was on their site when the sale went live and Touchpads were already sold out. I doubt they had any or if they did, very many at all.

I tell you, I was on their site when the sale went live at 6:04 PST and the Touchpads were up for almost 15 minutes before they took down the sale to mark the pads as sold out.

I refreshed pretty frequently and never saw the sale up, then down, then back up. I refreshed and it said "Sale coming soon." Within 5 minutes, I refreshed again and the sale was on and Touchpads were sold out. I don't believe I ever let it sit for 15 minutes between refreshes but I could be wrong.

I bought one and continued to check for the next 10 minutes. Entire process (inc. finalizing my order) and waiting was about 15 minutes.

The Splashtop Remote Desktop App is on sale today at 75% off. This is working great for me, it lets you operate your computer through your touchpad. WELL worth the 20 bucks, and at 75% off that (5 bucks), it's a must have.

Hey, thanks for the reminder -- I knew I was forgetting to do something today!

thread crapping: Amazon's Kindle announcement -- Fire for $199, Touch 3G for $149, Touch for $99, and Kindle for $79. I think you'll start to see prices go down soon on eBay but perk up in Thanksgiving for Christmas sales and then start really sliding in January.

Of course, this is yet another electronic device that you have to turn off before takeoff and landing in the airplane while I still read my book/paperback. And another bonus to the book/paperback? I can hit you with it if you're still using your tablet after they've said to turn it off. D:

But what about Airplane Mode? D:

I regged a domain for the fire yesterday. Meant to do it like 3 weeks back ugh lol. $199 is actually $50 cheaper than it was expected to be.

That's a slight annoyance with my Kindle, but usually I just check out the Skymall during that period. That bigfoot statue really pulls my yard together.

About those registered domains, I've had one for my online business for years now. Oh, wth, I don't need another TP, anyways.

Thanks! Grabbed that for husband's touchpad and he's putting it on his laptop now.
I bought the Splashtop Streamer because I thought it would allow me to use my TP like a remote for my HTPC.
Unfortunately, it forces my tv to a lower resolution to match the native of my TP.

Note: None of my movies are BD, only DVD.

I have movies I've ripped that I'd like to watch without going back to the mouse to make selections, pauses, etc.

Am I missing something?

On the Touchpad side, click the arrow next to the computer to which you want to connect. Then, click the arrow beside advanced settings. Change the resolution to "Use remote computer's native setting."

Thanks. I noticed this a few hours ago and so glad that option was there.
Still, it is a rather clumsy UI. I occasionally lose connection but perhaps that's mostly due to the distance from the AP.

Must be gone already. Not seeing anything on my company EPP site. I think I'm at a huge disadvantage being on Pacific time. Seems like most of these deals hit in the middle of the night for me.

The sale for HP employees started at noon pacific time. They still have 32gb versions of the touchpad available to employees.
