I see multiple auctions with less than 30 mins remaining under $200, and I see multiple buy it now auctions at $250...

(1)- They have taken over three days to let people know that their order that says 'shipping soon' is in fact : cancelled. Unacceptably long. A day is too long, three days is insane. 2-4 hours : somewhat irritating but okay.

(2)- This is 2011, it's not asking too much to have their ordering system be up to date enough to not allow more orders than actual inventory.

(3)- According to the data gathered over at SD, they used almost a lottery-like system for picking who got to get actual units. Time wasn't it, as people showed orders that got accepted for multiple 16 or 32gb units half an hour after people's single orders that were cancelled. Priority shipping seemed to have some effect, but not conclusively. For the sake of fairness, it should have been ordered by priority of order time, and ideally 1 unit per customer.

(4)- Also gathered at SD, they are not some tiny rinky-dink outfit that was suddendly broadsided, they're associated with MacMall and some other serious player. The errors in management are evident by this poor performance.

(5)- Funds are still on 'hold/processing' according to my bank. Will eventually be released, but it's an annoyance to be sure.

So yeah, they dropped the ball, they deserve everything they get. They handled it terribly from beginning to now.

Absolutely couldn't agree more. Well said, absolute garbage. The CS rep I spoke to at Amazon said Onsale has already been delisted as an Amazon vendor. Who knows if that's true, or if they won't just list their inventory under one of their other names.

They deserve all the rep damage they have coming to them.
 
Went by my BB and they had two of the 16GB there, so I grabbed them. One for my dad, not sure what to do with the other.

Update: Sold the extra to a friend. He's already picked it up.

Been there, done that. They all got their final shipments yesterday and sold out at store opening. I have 3 Best Buys in driving distance and they're all long sold out.
 
Any idea if these tablets now support the Kindle app? I was reading on Anand's review earlier today that there was just a place holder on the tablet stating that they were working on creating the app for the tablet and didnt know if it was officially working or not.

My best buy where I'm located at showed inventory a little over an hour ago so I rushed over there. They stated that they couldn't sell them until the morning as everything was still needing to be unloaded but that they had some. When I got back they showed no inventory available. So makes me wonder. They also stated to keep track on their twitter page which I've been doing since Monday. And they stated 30 minutes ago that they still didnt have any and would let us know an update in the morning.

HP Small Business had an image up saying (if i remember correctly, i can't find the image now) if you ordered prior to Aug 22 4am the order will ship, past that it gets cancelled. Also the prices will be corrected with free shipping.


Mine's still back ordered, but it's still there with a projected ship date of 8/27 now.

Yes, they have a working Kindle app in the latest update.

I'm surprised they let you buy 2, more surprised there wasn't an angry mob ready to beat you down for buying 2 😉. Both BB's near me were limit 1 per.

My insight order got zeroed out, and my erwin hasn't done anything. Oh well, at least I got one from BB, I'll try again if HP replenishes stock on their site.

the problem with onsale through amazon, is that they had no website malfunction excuse through them and it sounds like they sold more orders through amazon than they could have possibly filled.
 
Been lurking for a while, just thought I would say congrats (and I'm jealous) to all who actually were able to get one of these cool deals. Just had my 4th online vendor cancel on me and BB was cleaned out where I live so no luck for me, hope HP restocks soon and I can get one.

Woot! My OnSale order through Amazon actually shipped! 😱

My first order from HP shipped as well. Still haven't got shipping confirmation on my second HP order. That order is still stuck in processing.
