Negative reviews for what?

For the following :

Having a poorly implemented inventory > available to order connectivity (showing inventory that was already sold)

For holding people's funds for days with the only communication being 'Shipping Soon'

For taking days to tell people that their order was cancelled instead of a few hours like the other sites that oversold due to error/etc.

They really dropped the ball, and deserve to be slammed.

Would you have voiced the same complaints if your order had successfully gone through? If so, why did you wait for the cancellation?

I like that Barnes & Nobles cancelled my order a couple of days ago but only just now did the money appear back in my account. I realize the banking system has a lot to do with this...but how about you don't charge my card when you don't have product to sell?

They did not rip you off. Yes, they have taken more time than others have, but they are a very small player. They must have been extremely short handed to process all these orders.. I don't blame them at all.

It's a pre-authorization charge, not a charge for the full amount of the product. Feel free to Google the subject.
 
One thing I've noticed is that the orientation rotation is way too sensitive. I locked rotation for now but hopefully you can adjust sensitivity somewhere.

Yeah, locking the orientation was the first thing I did. It's hyper-sensitive. Even with the orientation locked, it opens full-screen videos in landscape mode, but switches back to portrait when you rotate it after closing the video. It was definitely designed to be held in landscape mode, given that both speakers are on one side.

I was kind of surprised at how well YouTube video played on it to be honest. I did run through a bunch of performance enhancement articles though, so maybe that's why.

Have any links? I've been disappointed with some video skipping. I need to read up on the user generated patches and homebrew too. I really don't know why they didn't put a scrollbar in the browser. That's just annoying.

They have a sign on the front door that said "Sold Out" I ignored it went in and there it is was 40 touchpads by the Cx counter.

Like I posted earlier if you call they will say sold out. They want you to come to the store.

Bear in mind this store most likely have the emloyees bought or reserved their own units already. The ones on the counters are the left overs.
 
I just got my official "Order canceled" notification from Insight.

All that's left now is HP's Small-business outlet, and I can't login there. It keeps telling me "Login Failed," even after resetting the password and copy/pasting the new password into the password login box. Oh well.
My card's still only got a hold on it from HP, not a charge.
We'll see.

Durn it.

I think they didn't put a scroll bar in the browser because you can drag it up and down with your finger.

You're missing the point.

(1)- They have taken over three days to let people know that their order that says 'shipping soon' is in fact : cancelled. Unacceptably long. A day is too long, three days is insane. 2-4 hours : somewhat irritating but okay.

(2)- This is 2011, it's not asking too much to have their ordering system be up to date enough to not allow more orders than actual inventory.

(3)- According to the data gathered over at SD, they used almost a lottery-like system for picking who got to get actual units. Time wasn't it, as people showed orders that got accepted for multiple 16 or 32gb units half an hour after people's single orders that were cancelled. Priority shipping seemed to have some effect, but not conclusively. For the sake of fairness, it should have been ordered by priority of order time, and ideally 1 unit per customer.

(4)- Also gathered at SD, they are not some tiny rinky-dink outfit that was suddendly broadsided, they're associated with MacMall and some other serious player. The errors in management are evident by this poor performance.

(5)- Funds are still on 'hold/processing' according to my bank. Will eventually be released, but it's an annoyance to be sure.

So yeah, they dropped the ball, they deserve everything they get. They handled it terribly from beginning to now.

My Insight.com order cancelled email just came in a few mins ago. Oddly enough the credit card cleared last night, so I'm not sure why this morning everything seemed like it was going to happen then nada...
 
My Hp.com (Academy) item was shipped, I ordered the case and the touchpad and when I got home from work the case was already delevered (but no touchpad 🙁 )

My 3 onsale orders were canceled

My 1 CDW order was canceled

I am hoping my 1 order with CostCentral and 1 order with ErwinComp goes through.
