Well Barnes & Nobel canceled my order after 14 hours.

Guess I'll wait and see if HP emails me when they get more stock available. Assuming I can be quick enough to snag one.

A few pages back a couple of folks expressed doubts about the hoarders being able to mark them up for a profit. I really don't care though, I bought 3 - I'm keeping one and selling the other two at enough profit to make the one I keep free.

They're all selling for $200-$350 on Ebay right now and people are buying them.

Amazon has a ton of "just launched" stores selling them too, and it looks like the prices have creeped up to the 350-400 range for the 16gb. HP basically handed money to a lot of people with this sale. I wish they mandated a limit, but they may have been concerned they wouldn't get rid of them all in a timely manner.

I just spoke to my old boss at an online computer supply store I used to work at, and he said a lot of small reseller companies bought most of them, LARGE orders of them, 50 and up. They sold over 1000 of them in an hour after the news broke about the sale. Hardly any individual orders went out. Looking at amazon I can see that a lot of companies had the same idea and are now marking it up to make some serious coin.

Just ordered one from erwincomp.com that was listed earlier in the thread. They charged my CC almost immediately (less than a minute after ordering) so lets hope for the best. I've been traveling on business the last four days and seem to have missed the $89 units. Oh well, I can't complain too much. 🙂

I submitted an order after you posted this. I assume the CC charging is automatic, since it's a yahoo store, but I figure it's worth a shot.

They charged me shipping even though it said free shipping, so it was 135.90 total. I figure if they actually ship it, I'll email them with the screenshots to fix the shipping thing. No need to rock the boat before they ship lol.

It still says "In Stock" but the 129.95 price has a dash through it, so I'm skeptical, they may have just had a few cancellations that they wanted to get rid of.

I ordered one from ErwinComp as well, but I don't expect it to be fulfilled. I also spent 30 minutes on hold with Insight, only to be hung up on. Makes me wonder if this is worth the time we are spending on it.

My tiger direct order shipped, yay. cost central sent an email this morning saying they are behind on things but it seemed like they were trying to fulfill them, but we'll see. We'll see what happens with on sale and pc richards.

I spent about 30 mins friday night, the rest of the time iv been sitting back watching 😛

Just tried to order from ErwinComp and it said in stock on the page. it let me get all the way to the end to submit my order and told me the item wasn't available.

oh well, i have no idea what i would have used it for anyway.

No point in ordering any I just got off the phone with them, they had 20,000 orders and 300 tablets. You can do the math, most people will have their orders canceled. Sorry to rain on your parade, I was looking forward to getting mine.

Same here. If you haven't found one by now, it's pretty much lost cause and not worth wasting time trying to locate one. The extremes people are going to buy are interesting though.

Which company, Erwin? I feel bad for their staff if this is the case. Cards got charged automatically, now they have to reverse charge 20,000 transactions 😱

Yeah, erwin is OOS. Coworker just tried to order five and it bombed. Then tried to order one and it bombed.
I like how is still says "in stock!" too. My order went through, but it took a long time waiting for it to submit. I'm not expecting it to ship, I just figured I'd try.

I guess I have to wait until HP emails me for wave 2 and see if I can get an order posted within 10 seconds of the email.

It is still probably a good deal even at $200, and some of the hoarders have been putting the 16 GB ones on Craigslist at that price. Of course, with the rumored Amazon tablet possibly being as low as $250, I'd wait.

I personally wouldn't touch it at $200. That's getting close to Android Honeycomb tablet territory. Amazon had Acer 16gb tab for $220 on Friday. I ordered one for my brother-in-law before canceling once I heard about this Touchpad deal. But we already have iPad1, iPad 2, and 7" Galaxy Tab at our house. I'm buying Touchpads more for the novelty more than anything.

Interesting. How does that Acer stack up? My wife was moaning about not getting one of the Touchpads so if she plays with the one I bought and likes it, I may need to find something for her if I can't catch another deal on a TP.

That has been live since yesterday...guaranteed to be cancelled. Like RD already posted - more stock in at most places Thurs/Fri. Everyone is getting riled up - just prepare for the incoming stock and chill a few days. 🙂
Well, now it is saying 136 in stock compared to a few posts ago when it was 201 in stock. I dunno, worth a shot.
