So I head this on the radio this morning. Its a clip of Howard Stern sending someone out to interview people in Harlem on why they support Obama. I found it pretty interesting so i found the clip on Youtube and decided to post it here to see what eveyone thought about it.

Personally, I pray this doesn't represent a good percentage of Obama supporters, because if it does, it shows how some follow a candidate so blindly.

As an AVID Stern fan, I wouldn't consider this newsworthy personally. Many of the antics of Richard and Sal are purely for shock value, stupidity and humor. While it indeed does show there are some people willing to put race first, I don't think it rises to any level worthy of real discussion. They don't mention how many people they approached, or even if the people they approached were registered voters or knew anything about the campaigns.

As others noted, its going to be a two way street. I'm sure some people will vote for Obama simply because he is black and some will vote against him for the exact same reason.

Personally, I would take anything said on Stern for its intended value, humor.

Just last night on MSNBC they asked the head volunteer at one of Obama's campaign offices what she thought of Obama's economic plan, and she had NO idea. She stuttered something about Obama hiring Clinton staff members. They mentioned that they talked to someone from a McCain office a few minutes earlier (I missed it), and I'm sure they got a similar result.

Winston Churchill was right about the average voter.

He has a duty as a citizen to be aware of the issues and vote. Everybody should have at least a minimum political agenda to vote for the lesser of any evil that has a chance to win and not fritter ones vote away in apathy or on some joke third party, no?

I'm voting against reaganonmics this election.

I think that its obsession with deregulation and tax breaks for the rich ignores manipulation of the system that occurs when there isn't targetted and appropriate regulation.

I don't support over regulation or purposely stifling businesses, but I also don't trust them to do the right thing without appropriate oversight.
