UPS- Been good to me, 4.
FedEx- 50/50. I had one thing delivered fine, and the other 'damaged' and returned to sender. They basically charged him $35 to take it to within 30 minutes of me, hear a screw rattling around, and send it back. With no compensation.
USPS- Never ever had a problem.

people, you forgot the greatest thing about USPS - and you cannot do that with UPS and FedEx (at least as i last checked).

PRE-PAY for a small parcel online on their web site - print the label online, put label on package....put package outside and let the mailman PICK UP the package right in front of your door !

I already sent many packages this way.eg. when i sell on ebay....its reasonable priced and it saves you the drive to FedEx or the sh$$ty UPS stores or going to the P.O.
Also, it includes delivery confirmation nr. which is used like a tracking number.
Otherwise:

1.) FedEX/ USPS
i give them both A+++

UPS last..sucks

What is the reasoning for NOT giving the USPS a 5? They're quick, cheaper than the others, more easily accessible, free Saturday delivery, and I hear of less problems with USPS than anyone. Fedex is fine, just expensive, so it takes a back seat to USPS for me.

The only problem I have with them is they have no real tracking. They only tell you if your package has already arrived at your house.

I really really dislike USPS. Many lost packages and letters, not to mention stuff shipped overnight (to a location 300 miles away) that didn't get there for 4 days. When I called and was like "Uh, I paid 20 bucks to ship this overnight and its been 3 days." The woman didn't even apologize and was unable to locate it anywhere. I do a lot of shipping and tracking where I work.

FedEx is fast and reliable, the best in the several hundreds of packages I've shipped.

DHL/Airborne is cheap and fast but I had a package get lost THREE times, I think someone at the major hub was stealing the sub 1k item.

UPS is cheap and slow, and lots of times it arrives broken.

Well I am glad that the phenomina of UPS sucking is not just here. I am not sure if they are cheaper than USP (I send very few packages) but if they are equal, no one should use them. That might send a message to management. It seems ground shipping will always take a week if they send it from outside the city as less as 100 miles away. They leave it in back of warehouses just to make sure it takes a long time so you will be getting ground delivery times. They want to make sure it is not getting air service (delivery over night) if you did not pay for it. FedEX will get it here overnight usually if it is shipped from a few hundred miles away, and they work on weekends. If it is shipped on Friday, it will get here Mon or Tue because the trucks have been moving all weekend. UPS of course is closed weekends.

FedEX is always here on the website stated day and they are always here between 12 and 2pm. USPS isn't too shabby either. Their tracking is almost non existant but Priority works great for small items and I had a laptop delivered to me overnight from CA, the guy delivering it was here at 9am or so.

FedEx > USPS > UPS
